In statements carried out in the conference 'Economy and sport: balance and challenges of future' celebrated in the headquarters of the School of Economists of Catalonia, Miguel Cardinal has not had objections in ensuring that, in the context of an independent Catalonia of Spain, probably the FC Barcelona would not have sufficient economic resources as to make an able competitive team to exceed the eighth or quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, happening to seem more to the Ajax of Amsterdam or to the Standard of Lieja.
