The list of three finalists was selected by a jury composed by 80 trainers of clubs that participated in the phase of groups of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europe League 2016/17, beside 55 journalists selected by the group European Sports Half (ESM) that represent to the distinct federations member of the UEFA.
The Prize to the Best Player of the Year of the UEFA recognises to the best footballers that have played in one of the federations member UEFA during the past season. The footballers are judged by his performances in all the competitions, so much domestic like continental and international.
Waiting for knowing the order in which it will close the podium, also has given to know the name of the footballers that integrate the 'top 10' of better players of the season.
