The new revolutionary format that the UEFA proposes for the Champions from 2024

The season 2018-19 has come to an end, and in Europe exists an animated debate on the Champions. The UEFA and the Association of European Clubs (ECA) are adherents of a deep renewal of the international competitions, that has the support of some historical teams and with the rejection of others less powerful and of the majority of leagues, that consider clearly prejudiced.

The 'Chain COPE' has advanced the new format that poses for the most prestigious tournament of the old continent, in an information announced in the program 'The Partidazo of COPE' by the journalists Juan Antonio Alcalá and Isaac Fouto. According to this news, the proposal has been elaborated by a commission of clubs and has the seen well of the UEFA, that will present it in his next Assembly in Monaco, foreseen for the month of August.

This configuration would see the light in 2024, and has like main a system of promotions and descents connected with the Europe League. The initial phase would contest it 32 teams delivered in four groups of eight teams each one, that would confront in 14 days -all against all and with parties of gone and turn- before the eliminatory rounds.
