Espai Barça: The treasure patrimonial under construction

The dream blaugrana of the Espai Barça is increasingly near to turn into reality. This Monday, the economic vice-president and patrimonial of the FC Barcelona, Jordi Moix, presented the accounts of the club and gave new details on the called "treasure patrimonial of 35 hectares", that will have a cost of 725 millions, 125 more than it presupuestado during his approval in 2014.

The ambitious project of the Barcelona, that began to pose during the presidency of Jan Laporta in 2007, is a plan of the club to renew his stadium Camp Nou and expand the rest of his installations. With the 'Espai Barça', the stadium blaugrana will happen to have 99.000 seats to 105.000 for the enjoy of the 'fans'.

It was approved finally by the partners of the club during the referendum of the 2014 and now needs of a new plan of financiamiento to build the seven parts in which it is divided. Jordi Moix explained to the media that the finance of the Espai Barça will be to charge of a group of banks and national financial entities and international of banks that leads Goldman Sachs, one of the big groups of investment.

In this way, the financial entities will concede to the Barcelona 725 million euros. Of agreement to the economic vice-president, of this quantity, already have used 100 millions to pay the previous works: the demolish of the Mini Estadi and the improvement of the electrical network for the Camp Nou.

The length of the agreement, explained Moix, will be of 30 years, five years of construction and 25 of management, and will begin to cancel from the 2025, when the project already was built. The increase of the cost of the Espai Barça is due to the evolution and modification urbanística, by which have to compensate with 50 millions to the city council of the Catalan capital, 60 by the increase of capacity of the new Palau Blaugrana, that will happen 10.000 to 15.000 seats, and 15 millions for other projects of improvement.

More income for the club

Jordi Moix explained that a fixed external audit in 150 millions the income to the club when the Espai Barça was built, for the season 2024-25, what supposes 100 millions more than the planned in 2014. The manager of the project explained that the first 50 millions will be allocated to return the finance and the remaining to the ordinary activity of the club "and to the improvement of his competitiveness".

Moix desglosó The 150 millions that would generate : 50 by the 'title rights' of the stadium and the new agreements of sponsorship. Other 50 will be by loges and seats VIP. The rest, will be marked by new visitors to the Museum, 'ticketing', restoration, rent of spaces and parkings.

The club highlighted that the types of interest that handle situate around the 3-4 percent annual and highlighted that the agreement "does not demand guarantees neither guarantees" and respects "the marked red lines" by the referendum of the 2014 in which the partners blaugranas gave him the seen well to the construction of the project.
