The inauguration of the new Camp Nou, planned to 2024

The FC Barcelona follows advancing in the planning of the new Espai Barça, whose elements will go building during these next years to give to the club a new jump regarding architectural modernism and sustainability. The commissioner of the FC Barcelona has ensured in the last hours, from Japan, that does not mark concrete terms to the hour of ultimar all the details of the project.

Taking advantage of that the Espai Barça was designed by Nikken Sekkei, the responsible director of the Barça Jordi Moix, beside the director of the Area Patrimonial, Bill Mannarelli, and Víctor Pageo, 'product manager' of the dispatch of Japanese architects, have offered an exhibition in the auditorium of the Cervantes Institute of Tokyo appointed 'Espai Barça + Catalan & Japanese architecture'.

There, Jordi Moix has confirmed that the FC Barcelona wants to have smart the new Camp Nou of face to the 2024. If this licence arrives in the planned time, "then would award the works and from there would have a horizon of three four-years. When have the permissions will be able to be more concrete".

In principle the project had to be inaugurated in 2022, but the bureaucratic formalities have lengthened the terms and this, as it ensures the own Moix, has increased the planned costs: "we Have to approximate us to the costs presupuestados, is part of the mandate that have of the partners, but also is necessary to take into account that in five years since we did the referendum the costs of construction have evolved".

In parallel, the FC Barcelona follows working in funding the Espai Barça with the 'title rights', sponsor that will share name with the Camp Nou. The Barça still has not closed an agreement with anybody, but will analyse all the offers and expects to achieve a good commercial agreement, the best possible. "The term is related with the economic structure of all the project. The financial entities understand that the sponsor want to link when they are finish the installations because they can visualise better of what treats . We are working still in which is the best 'timing'", signals Moix.

The Estadi Johan Cruyff, almost finished

From the Barcelona club pretend carry out all the works without that they affect the most minimum to the sportive plane. While for the new Camp Nou still remain some years of wait, the stadium that will inaugurate this same year 2019 is the Estadi Johan Cruyff, that already is practically finishing and will inaugurate the next 27 August.
