The FC Barcelona is between the 20 clubs of Europe that never have gone down of category. In Spain only Madrid and Athletic Club of Bilbao accompany to the Barcelona in this statistics that reflects well the history culé
That the FC Barcelona is one of the best clubs of the European football is not news. By history, by the string of trophies that accumulates in his vitrinas (121) and by the hegemony that has showed from the arrival of Johan Cruyff -joined to a style that practically all have wanted to copy-.
And in Spain is one of the classical beside Madrid and Athletic. They are the only three that have not gone down of category. In fact, the worst season in the history of the FC Barcelona dates of 1942, when the then trained team by Ramón Guzmán -until January- and Juan José Nogués finish in 12º. It was a year for the forget in the domestic championship, falling by 6-0 in front of the Granada.
The Barcelona team had to save the category in a promotion against the Real Murcia, to the that won 5-1 in Chamartín -then played always there this phase-. Curiously, this course yes won the Glass of the Generalísimo, defeating 4-3 to the Athletic in a trepidante final.
To do a fast comparison, the worst season of the Madrid would arrive just a year afterwards, in 1943, finalising in tenth position and saving to play the promotion by hardly three points.

If we look the big leagues of our football, only the Inter of Milan has been able to keep in the elite -will remember that the Juventus went down to the pozo deeper by all the scandal of alter of parties-. In England, and speech well of this league, all the big have fallen sometime.
If we travel until Germany, is the Hamburg the only club that has not gone down to Second Division, and this that in the last decade has been in some occasions merodeando the descent. Surprisingly, the Bayern of Munich himself has been team ofSecond , and several times: the first, in 1939.
In Greece, Holland and Turkey, the classical that know and carry years playing European competitions are those that always have kept in the elite. In Scotland, the mythical Celtic of Glasgow accompanied of the modest Aberdeen, usual rival of the Barça in pre-seasons.
Some are more known, others no so much. And surely many no would occur you -especially in Italy-. As we already have commented, there is not any English team in this list:
