"It does near of four years, in the elections to the presidency of the Club of the month of June of 2010, thousands of partners of the FC Barcelona attended to the urns with the illusion to give his opinion on how and who had to do charge of the reins of the club. It was an unforgettable day, a democratic party that reinforced the greatness of our Barça.

This day, 61% of the votes awarded to the team that I led the commission to direct the destinations of the Club until the year 2016.

In these four years have enjoyed and suffered by the fact to be barcelonistas, as during more than a century have enjoyed and suffered a lot of generations of Barcelona people.
In all these years have seen that our successes are the result to win in the terrains of game and surpass innumerable obstacles extradeportivos, politicians, external and, what is worse, some times of our own surroundings. In these last four years have won a League of Champions, a World-wide of Clubs, two Leagues, a Glass of Rey, a Supercopa of Europe, three Supercopas Spanish and a Glass of Catalonia. Besides, our sections have strolled triunfante our colours by all the world luciendo our character polideportivo.

Today the idea of the barcelonismo is a global feeling, and will keep on being it in the future.

To the world-wide sportive leadership that started with Ronaldinho in that final in Paris, and that continued with the goals of Messi in Rome and London, has added an effective economic management, that has allowed us keep on being competitive, reduce the debt, recover and expand our heritage. Besides, the pride to know that the best players of the world dress today our colours.

To this situation it is necessary to add the immense illusion that represents the construction of a new field on the base of our magic and legendary Camp Nou and that the partners will have to ratify in the month of April in a referendum.

But this period of successes also has had moments very difficult. From it does time my family and I same have suffered in silence loom and attacks that have done me think if be president means to have to put in risk my family and cause them anxiety.

In the last days, besides, an unfair and reckless indictment of undue appropriation has ended in a querella against me in the National High Court. From the first moment have said that the signing of Neymar Junior is correct and that the contracting has caused the despair and the envy of some of our opponents.

The right of the partners to be informed has to be compatible with the defence of the Club and the confidentiality of some matters and facts. This confidentiality is essential in the world of the football because in contrary case can comport some damages for the own Club.

This Managerial Board is a team. And this team leads a project that already has given big fruits. I do not want that unfair attacks affect negatively the management and the image of the Club. And that's why I think that my stage has finished here.

And now, receiving me to the Statutes of the Club, have presented to the Managerial Board my resignation like president of the FC Barcelona with irrevocable character.

From these moments, and such as I have announced does some moments to the directors, and in accordance with our Statutes, the first vice-president of the Club, Josep Maria Bartomeu, will do charge of the Presidency immediately and until finals of the mandate, in the year 2016, as it has agreed unanimously the Managerial Board does some minutes.

It has been an honour serve to the barcelonistas. It has been a privilege be president of the FC Barcelona. Wish the best to the new president and ask to the partners that give him all the support. I give the thank you sincerely to the employees of the Club, to the players and to the technicians. My special gratitude to the directors that have accompanied me in this trip.

And also to my family. They, after all, are the essence of my life. The most important.
