The referendum on the new Camp Nou, the 5 or 6 April

According to the president of the FC Barcelona, Sandro Rosell, "the option to build a new stadium in a new location has been descartada, since the final cost of the operation could mortgage the club". The referendum will vote the 5 or 6 April

In a back appearance to the extraordinary meeting of the Managerial Board, the president Sandro Rosell has revealed the unanimous decision to subject to query of the partners the project to build a new stadium with the structure of the of now. The date of the referendum will be the 5 or on 6 April. A deep analysis has carried to descartar the option to create one new in another location, since the operation would have put in risk the economic feasibility of the club. 

The project, that all the partners will be able to know at first hand before the query and that will not alter the research of the sportive excellence, will include the construction of a new Palau Blaugrana.

This is the speech (whole) that has pronounced Rosell: 

"Today the Managerial Board of the FC Barcelona has decided unanimously subject to query of the partners the project to build a new stadium on the structure of the current Camp Nou. The Managerial Board has decided descartar the option to build a new stadium in the terrains that had proposed us to the height of the Diagonal. It has been a difficult decision. The two projects were very attractive. But our commitment was to present to referendum viable projects from a technical point of view, urbanístico and economic. 

After a deep analysis, the Managerial Board has decided that the best option is to be still in Them Corts. The architectural project original of our stadium has achieved that, 56 years after his construction, can be the base for our project of future. The Camp Nou forms part of our collective memory, is the biggest of Europe and an icon of the city of Barcelona. The option to build a new stadium in a new location has been descartada, since the final cost of the operation could mortgage the club, his partners and manacle to future managerial boards.

The project by which have opted is asumible. To keep on being leaders have to give this historical step that will comport efforts by part of all, but that will guarantee the comfort of a new installation with the last technologies to the service of his users and the sportsmen. Besides, we will multiply the value of our real-estate property and the capacity to generate new additional income, without selling or reduce our heritage. We believe in this project because it will be asumible of parallel way to the constant research of the sportive excellence. 

This new project also will include the construction of a new Palau Blaugrana, as well as the development of the terrains that call Space Barça. The new Palau will have to reinforce our vocation polideportiva. It is very important to remark that we can face this project thanks to the reduction of the debt that have attained in these last years. We will follow working with this aim. But the efforts in economic matter begin to give his fruits and will allow us face this real-estate operation with the maximum guarantees. I can say now, more than ever, that the best is still for arriving. 

And I invite to all the barcelonistas, all they, to use this project like an element of unit. This Managerial Board will propose to the partners the construction of a new stadium on the same structure of the Camp Nou. They will be other together those that will have to preserve this heritage, like other directives and other presidents have preserved the Camp Nou. In the weeks to come we will inform to the partners of the project, will be able to see it personally, ask and, finally, with all the questions and his answers, decide in an open query if they want that this project see the light. 

In some days will inform with all detail of the calendar of planned actions to carry out the referendum. Referendum that will celebrate the days 5 or 6 April, coinciding with football match in the Camp Nou. It will be the collective opinion of the partners the one who will allow to consolidate this project and visionar this club like a definitively global entity and settled of sustainable form between the biggest of the football.
