Real Madrid and Athletic will cross in the new World-wide of Clubs

The FIFA approved this Friday the format of the new World-wide of Clubs, and the enlargement of seven to 24 participants. Real Madrid and Athletic, champions of Champions and Europe League in 2018, will be between the favourites to a tournament that will première in 2021
Although all the attention carried it to him a Champions 2018-19 that already knows his final picture, already is official, the new World-wide of Clubs has been approved and will start in 2021. The FIFA gave green light this Friday to the planned modifications in the tournament that will confront to the best groups of the planet once each four summers.
Between the main variations of the competition finds his enlargement, since it will happen of seven to 24 participants. Between them they will be eight European applicants, six of Sudamérica, three of Africa, Asia and the CONCACAF and besides, another of Oceania. Regarding the old continent, the selected will be the champions of Champions and Europe League of the last four seasons.
This ensures the presence of Real Madrid and Athletic -as winning of the mentioned trophies in 2018- in the first edition, that will contest between 17 June and on 4 July 2021. To adjust this increase of teams, no longer will initiate the championship directly in the eliminatory phase, but there will be a previous before the crosses to face or cross.
The new format includes eight groups of three teams, in which the eight winners would configure a round of quarter-finals. It fits to stand out also that if one of the clubs is champion more than once during the four years of each period, the turn would be for the following classified in the ránking of each continental confederation.
The UEFA and the Barça, against the new World-wide of Clubs
The FIFA approved the set up of the new World-wide of Clubs with the opposition of the UEFA, that voted against of his renewal but found with the agreement between the representatives of Africa, Asia, Oceania, Sudamérica and Central America, North and Caribbean, that voted in favour of the project promoted by Gianni Infantino.
The organism that governs the European football tried to give voice to the refusal of the European Association of Clubs (ECA), of which forms part a FC Barcelona that does not see clear varied of the points of the new tournament. In the Camp Nou agree with the renewal, but consider that they would have to expand the European representatives, that will give more prestige to the competition and modify the economic distribution, since they foresee a global income closely of 1.000 million euros.
