FC Barcelona's defeat at Crvena Zvezda (2-5) was the fifth culé defeat with 5 or more goals in the Hansi Flick era. With Xavi Hernández, this only happened five times in 143 games

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona has exponentially increased its scoring production since the arrival of Hansi Flick. On Wednesday, the Blaugrana team scored their fifth win in Belgrade by scoring 5 or more goals (seventh consecutive game scoring 3 or more goals) in just 16 games, increasing their average to 3.43 goals per game in all competitions.

In total, Barça has scored 55 goals (40 in the League, 15 in the Champions League), being by far the team that scores the most in Europe. The 'little hand' against Red Star allowed the Catalans to surpass Borussia Dortmund (13) as the club with the most goals scored in the Champions League.

At the domestic level, no team comes close to the Barça offensive records in the major European leagues. And, in the Champions League, the team linked three games in a row scoring 3 or more goals (5 against Young Boys, 4 against Bayern Munich), a streak that increases to 7 games in a row counting the League rounds (3 against Alavés, 5 against Sevilla , 4 to Real Madrid and 3 to Espanyol).

Flick's Barça crushes the offensive records of Xavi's team

In that sense, the goal difference is abysmal compared to last season. In its first 16 games of 2023/24, the team led by Xavi Hernández scored 32 goals (24 in the League, 8 in the Champions League), 23 less than in 2024/25.

Furthermore, during Egarense's cycle, Barça only achieved five goals, scoring 5 or more goals in a total of 143 official matches, while with Hansi Flick this has already happened on the same number of occasions in just 16 matches.

Regarding the streak of duels scoring at least 3 goals, Barça left its limit in 4 consecutive games (4 against Betis, 3 against Villarreal, 3 against Alavés and 3 against Granada).

If we go back to 2022/23, Xavi's team managed to reach 6 games with 3 or more goals in favor (6 in La Liga and 1 in the Champions League) and, in their first 16 games of the season, they scored a total of 36 goals, 4 more compared to last season (28 in La Liga, 8 in the Champions League).
