A decisive game could leave in 'check' to Florentino

It sharpens the war between Javier Thebes, president of LaLiga, and Florentino Pérez, president of the Real Madrid, for seeing who carries the control of the Spanish football; and the same already is arriving to his decisive moments. Thebes plans to strengthen the domiciliary tournament, as well as to the clubs that follow competing in a system evolved of the Champions current. By his part, Florentino defends the Superliga European, with his big clubs, monopolising the investment and the attention of all the fans; mattering him little that the domestic leagues remain in a second flat. There is not money neither space for the two models.

It will be the next 10 December when it celebrate the assembly that ratify the agreement with the British investment fund CVC, which was pautada by Thebes, the one who summoned to the clubs of first and second division. To approve the proposal of the president of LaLiga, the signature of investment will participate of the audiovisual business of the tournament and will obtain a package accionarial direct in his commercial arm.

In return of the approval of the mentioned agreement, the CVC will inject 2.000 millions. Before Navidad, the clubs already will be able to perceive some 800 million euros if they give his approval. The 1.200 remaining will arrive in three batches of 400 millions, the months of June of 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The criterion of distribution bases in the weight that each club has had in the distribution of the income by television from 2015. If the Barça subscribed the agreement, for example, could perceive some 270 millions, whereas the most modest of the clubs arrived to the professional football would perceive some 5 millions. To interest zero, the entities will give back the credit in a maximum of 40 years or before if they decide to abandon LaLiga by any reason.

Same criterion

With regard to the norms for the investment of these soft bottoms, the criterion is the same for all: 15% for refinanciar debt contracted owing to the Covid-19 (315 million euros), another 15% to improve the limit salarial (315 millions), with option to fractionate it in three seasons, and 70% (1.470 million euros) to infrastructures or development of new businesses.

This important economic injection would award feasibility to the project of LaLiga and would represent a definite push to the project of Thebes: a strong Spanish League and the best competing in Europe in a system of Champions and Euroliga very similar to the current, simply improved. This idea is the one who likes in the Government of Spain. Also it likes to the president of the UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin.

The aim of Florentino

Florentino Pérez has other plans: the creation of the Superliga European. The maximum mandator of the Real Madrid sees with worry how the Spanish clubs lose bellows to the time to compete in Europe. His income do not reach to retain the necessary talent to defeat to the clubs-State, like Paris Saint-Germain or the Manchester City. Therefore, it considers that the alone Spanish teams could compete if it achieves that the most powerful clubs of Europe accept to compete in a European league and leave in second plane the leagues of each country.
