The winter transfer market has been used by FC Barcelona on numerous occasions to bring players who have been lucky to shoot in the club
The market of traspasos of winter has been historically a period that the clubs take advantage of to cover some urgencies with unforeseen signings although, in other occasions, also make operations of big envergadura that remained in the inkwell during the period estival. This month of January, already have closed some incorporations and expect more in the weeks to come.
In the case of the FC Barcelona, looks for a leading centre contrasted that it can substitute to Luis Suárez during the four months that the Uruguayan will be in the dry dam. Rodrigo Moreno is the one who is more near and, in case to close his cession until final of season, expects more than him that in wintry signings of the Barcelona in previous years that did not finish of cuajar.
Especially remembered were the two failures of 2019, when the FC Barcelona agreed the cessions of Jeison Murillo or Kevin-Prince Boateng by six months. The Colombian hardly had opportunities to play, since Ernesto Valverde ranged him in few parties in spite of having asked his signing. In the case of the germano-ghanés, his performance was a disaster and even finish out of the announcements. Also it arrived Todibo, that did not have hardly minutes like culé but that it can wake up in his cession to the Schalke.
A year before, in 2018, the FC Barcelona had left 120 million more variable euros in Philippe Coutinho, that had an extraordinary performance during his first months like culé -lamentably could not play in Champions League for having it done before with the Liverpool- but that turned off completely the past campaign until the point to have to yield him to the Bayern Munich because it did not have place in the Camp Nou in spite of that had landed with the poster of 'galactic'.
This same year also arrived Yerry Mina (11 millions), that fracasó in the Barça but that, after revalorizarse in the World-wide, the culés sold it to the Everton by the triple of what cost. In the last lustros, also remember wintry signings of low cost that managed without penalty neither glory by the club culé like Ibrahim Afellay, Maxi López or Demetrio Albertini.
Edgar Davids, the best signing of winter
Edgar Davids arrived to the FC Barcelona in January of 2004 yielded by the Juventus -in return of 2 million euros- and revolutionised the team of Frank Rikjaard, that had done a bad first turn but that woke up in the second thank you, partly, to the tremendo performance of the Dutch. It costs to remember a signing of winter so fruitful in the history of the club and would be a dream that the '9' that arrive this month of January give so many joys like which he gave.
