The FC Barcelona fulfils the Weddings of Silver in the Supercopa of Spain

By 25ª occasion in his history, the FC Barcelona contests the Supercopa of Spain, a competition that in the modern period began in the season 1982-83 between the Real Sociedad and the Real Madrid. The Barcelona group is the more laureado in said contest, and could celebrate the Wedding of Silver in this edition heaving his fourteenth title.

The Barça participated for the first time in the Supercopa of Spain in the campaign 1983-84, in that occasion confronted the champion of LaLiga in front of the of Glass of Rey. After surpassing the extensive drought by five years without titles in the contest, the Barça went back to reverdecer from his thirteenth participation: 2005-06 (winning to the Betis) and 2006-07 (to the Espanyol). It continued with the series when it returned to the tournament, chaining three consecutive titles: 2009-10 (Athletic), 2010-11 (Seville) and 2011-12 (Real Madrid).

In his eighteenth participation in the Supercopa (2012-13) bent the knee in front of the Madrid because of the goals annotated by the rival in contrary field and, in the following (2013-14), imposed in front of the Athletic by the same road. Since, the Barça has gone alternating between triumphs and falls. It lost the Supercopa of the season 2015-16 (Athletic), won the one of the course 2016-17 (Seville), fell in the edition 2017-18 (Real Madrid), triumphed in the season 2018-19 (Seville) —played to only party in Tangier— and lost in the last in which it participated (2019-20) in semifinals (against the Athletic, in party played in Saudi Arabia).
