Barça will have to make a final decision regarding Jonathan David. The striker has offered himself to the club, but the board is not sure about his signing

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona have already set the machinery in motion for the next transfer market. Last Thursday, Deco travelled to Leverkusen to meet with Jonathan Tah's agents and advance the signing of the defender at zero cost. Now, the sporting management must make a final decision with another of the free agents on the Barça radar.

It is Jonathan David, a Lille striker who is also out of contract at the end of the season. The footballer has already declared his love for the Catalan team and dreams of wearing the Barça shirt, but within Can Barça they are not completely clear about his signing despite his great season in the French team, where he has accumulated 15 goals and 2 assists in 22 games played this season.

At 24 years old, the Canadian appears to be one of the 'bargains' of the market due to his projection and the possibility of signing him at zero cost. However, the Blaugranas have doubts about his fit in the team and his performance in the elite, since, according to 'SPORT', they do not see him as a 'top' striker.

Barça will make a decision in the coming weeks

At the moment, the Catalans have not made any major moves for the signing of David and only the financial terms of the operation are known, awaiting a final decision that must be made in the coming weeks. The player wants to know his future as soon as possible since in January he is free to negotiate with any club and his entourage would already have three powerful offers from the Premier League, so the Blaugranas are 'against the clock'.

The Canadian would prefer to end up in Spain and play at the Spotify Camp Nou, and would even be willing to accept a secondary role while Lewandowski is Hansi Flick's undisputed '9'. His operation could reach 80 million euros between signing bonus, commissions and salary for the next five seasons, making it an operation that is, a priori, affordable for the club.

However, the uncertainty surrounding his adaptation to Flick's system continues to 'truncate' his arrival, which is why the sporting management, hand in hand with the coach, will soon determine whether the economic factor weighs more than the sporting one and they take advantage of this market opportunity or go for another target that offers greater guarantees as a substitute for 'Lewy' in the medium and long term.
