FC Barcelona wants to reinforce the right back and would have been interested again in one of the top wingers in the Bundesliga who was on their agenda. Who is it? We tell you at FCBN

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The FC Barcelona continues to pay attention to a significant number of options to strengthen the right-back position. One of them, which has gained traction recently, is the addition of Andrei Rațiu from Rayo Vallecano, a perfectly classifiable option in the 'low cost' category and presenting itself as an interesting alternative for the Catalan team.

However, the reality is that the Romanian right-back is not the only option that Barcelona seems to be considering to strengthen this area of the field. As suggested by the transfer expert journalist Ekrem Konur, the Blaugrana have once again shown interest in a player who was heavily linked in the past but appeared to have been relegated in the list of priorities: Jeremie Frimpong.

It is worth noting that the 23-year-old Dutch right-back, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen, was previously considered an attractive reinforcement for FC Barcelona. The Amsterdam-born player is a right-back with great offensive capabilities, providing a constant threat on the right flank due to his speed and power, showing bravery in taking on opponents effectively.

THE POLL Will Barcelona go for the signing of Jeremie Frimpong to reinforce the right back?

Additionally, Frimpong consistently reaches the byline and possesses fantastic finishing ability, both in scoring goals and providing assists. However, Jeremie could improve defensively, where there is still room for progress.

Why didn't FC Barcelona opt for the signing of Jeremie Frimpong last summer?

Now, despite being one of the most attractive full-backs in Europe and having garnered significant interest from Barcelona, the main obstacle to this transfer by the Catalan club was, of course, the financial aspect.

Although the price of Frimpong, with a release clause of 40 million euros, could be considered affordable in the current transfer market, it was prohibitive for a Barcelona whose financial situation was not the most comfortable in the previous summer window. Therefore, the transfer of the Dutch player remained on hold.

At this point, it will be interesting to see if Barcelona decides to move for Jeremie Frimpong in the upcoming summer transfer window. Despite being highly rated by Hansi Flick, a strong offensive move will be required to outbid other top European clubs also vying for the player, such as Liverpool, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, all with strong financial capabilities and attractive sporting projects.
