The Clásico of LaLiga 24/25 not only reaffirmed the great sporting moment that Football Club Barcelona is experiencing, but also the unconditional support of the ‘culé’ fanbase, who turned Montjuïc into a fortress with a record turnover, reaching a figure that would make even the most seasoned bankers blush: 13.8 million euros on a single match day.

A historic collection that not only breaks records but also shatters —with the same elegance with which a weak defense is broken— the old earnings of the mythical Camp Nou.

In addition to the economic success, the Barça-Madrid match also registered the highest attendance in the recent history of the Estadi Olímpic, with 50,319 spectators present in the stands of Lluís Companys.

The ‘azulgrana’ team continues to be one of the most powerful clubs in terms of attendance, but until now the temporary move to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys had meant a significant economic impact. Below, we review the attendance figures for the last two seasons.

Attendance at Montjuïc Stadium – Season 24-25 vs. Season 23-24

Since the 2023-24 season, Barça has been playing away from the Spotify Camp Nou, which is undergoing extensive remodeling. This move has limited the maximum capacity to just over 50,000 spectators, well below the more than 99,000 of the old stadium.

Despite the constant support from the fanbase, with remarkable figures like the 50,319 attendees of the Clásico against Real Madrid, Barça has stopped earning millions in ticketing‘.

According to Eduard Romeu, former economic vice-president, losses in that area exceed 100 million euros, also considering the drop in income from the Barça Store and the club’s Museum.
