FC Barcelona has demanded absolute discretion from <\/strong>LaLiga and its president, Javier Tebas,<\/a> regarding the handling of the financial information that the Catalan entity has provided. This request arises in a context of maximum tension between both parties over compliance with Financial Fair Play,<\/strong> the operation of the VIP boxes at Spotify Camp Nou and the ‘Dani Olmo case’<\/strong>.<\/p>

LaLiga has questioned the validity of Bar\u00e7a’s interim financial statements, highlighting that they do not reflect the 100 million euros generated by the sale of VIP boxes, a figure that the club had used to justify the registration of players like Dani Olmo and Pau V\u00edctor<\/strong>. Furthermore, it has been pointed out that the club has worked with up to three different auditors in recent months, raising doubts about the consistency of their financial reports.<\/p>

In response, LaLiga announced that it will report the auditor who endorsed this operation<\/strong> to the Institute of Accounting and Auditing of Accounts (ICAC). It also lamented that the Higher Sports Council (CSD) has not issued a specific report on the case, which, according to LaLiga, further complicates the financial and administrative situation of the club.<\/p>

Barcelona Demands Javier Tebas to Respect the Confidentiality of Information<\/h2>

For its part, Bar\u00e7a<\/strong>, which seeks to avoid additional conflicts to protect its institutional image, has issued an official statement demanding that the employer and its president, Javier Tebas, maintain absolute discretion regarding the club’s financial information<\/strong>. Additionally, FC Barcelona has informed LaLiga that it resigns from being part of the current delegated commission of the employer.<\/p>

FC Barcelona<\/strong> has sent a letter to LaLiga expressing its \u00absurprise and indignation\u00bb<\/strong> at the publication on April 2 by the executives of Spanish football of an informative note titled: \u00abRegarding the corporate operation related to the VIP boxes communicated to LaLiga by FC Barcelona at the end of<\/em> last December\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>

Bar\u00e7a emphasizes that it was unaware of this letter from LaLiga and did not give its consent, a fact that has led the Catalan entity to send a letter requesting the technician, its president, and any member of this body to refrain from making any comments or assessments regarding the financial information sent by the Catalan club, in order to treat it as confidential material.<\/p>

Bar\u00e7a highlights LaLiga’s inappropriate behavior<\/strong> in making public the details of the financial information provided by the Club to the employers, as well as in making public the decisions of LaLiga’s bodies against FC Barcelona, a fact that, in the Club’s opinion, \u00abis a flagrant breach of LaLiga’s obligations to one of its affiliates,<\/strong> as well as an express breach of Article 5 of the Regulations for the preparation of budgets\u00bb, continues the letter sent by Bar\u00e7a.<\/em><\/p>

This article states:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>

\u00abARTICLE 5. CONFIDENTIALITY. The information, data, and documents that clubs and SADs provide to LaLiga in compliance with this Regulation shall be confidential and subject to data protection regulations, without prejudice to the obligations arising from the information requirements of judicial and administrative bodies <\/em>and administrative\u00bb.<\/p> <\/blockquote>

This duty of confidentiality applies and is enforceable from LaLiga even if the media have published other information, as the employer and all its members \u00abmust refrain from confirming, ratifying, or contradicting\u00bb any financial data provided by the Club.<\/p>

Furthermore, the blaugrana club regrets that the informative note published \u00abhas been the trigger for a large-scale discrediting campaign against the Club and the president by the media<\/strong>; a campaign that is being used as an excuse to question the legitimacy of our first team’s competitive situation\u00bb.<\/p>

Attacks by Javier Tebas Against Dani Olmo and Pau V\u00edctor<\/h2>

Another reprimand that the Club makes to LaLiga is after the public statements of its president, Javier Tebas, \u00abagainst our players, such as Dani Olmo and Pau V\u00edctor<\/a>,<\/strong> legally registered, as reiterated recently by the Higher Sports Council in its resolution of April 3, 2025\u00bb.<\/p>

The statements of LaLiga’s president represent \u00aba clear attempt at destabilization that is unacceptable\u00bb<\/strong> by the highest president of the organizing entity of the competition, while indicating that the constant public statements of Mr. LaLiga. Tebas regarding details of the Club’s financial situation\u2014according to his particular interpretation\u2014or expressing personal opinions about leaving our players without licenses when, to date, they have already dismissed the reason for it on two occasions cannot be accepted.<\/p>

Likewise, FC Barcelona announces the initiation of appropriate actions<\/a><\/strong> in defense of its interests and demands LaLiga to:<\/p>

From now on, absolutely refrain from making public, in any format, by itself or by any person from the organization, details or data about the information\/documentation provided by FC Barcelona to LaLiga in compliance with our obligations as an affiliate;<\/p> <\/blockquote>

Absolutely refrain from making public, in any format, by itself or by any person from the organization, the actions or initiatives that LaLiga undertakes in relation to the Club and\/or its players within the framework of relations with LaLiga affiliates; and<\/p> <\/blockquote>

That the informative note dated April 2, 2025, which contains the following link, be immediately removed from LaLiga’s website: https:\/\/www.laliga.com\/noticias\/nota-informativa-respecto-de-la-operacion-corporativa-relacionada-con-palcos-vip-del-fc-barcelona<\/p> <\/blockquote>

On the other hand, FC Barcelona has communicated to LaLiga, Las Palmas, and Celta de Vigo that, due to the current discrepancies and the behavior of LaLiga’s bodies, the Club resigns from being part of the group of clubs that, as a joint candidacy, is a member of the current Delegated Committee of LaLiga<\/strong>.<\/p>
