Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona is on track to close the best season in its history in terms of goal production. On Sunday, the Catalans reached 101 goals scored in 32 matches after the thrashing against Valencia (7-1)<\/a><\/strong>. This was the second thrashing of the azulgrana team with 7 goals scored, following what happened in matchday 4 of LaLiga against Valladolid, also in Montju\u00efc (7-0). Since the 2013-14 season (7-0 against Levante and Osasuna), Bar\u00e7a had not achieved something similar in two matches of the same season.<\/p>

In this sense, Flick managed to set a new record as the azulgrana coach. The German is only the second coach capable of surpassing 100 goals in his first 32 matches in charge, with an impressive average of 3.15 goals per game across all competitions. Only Helenio Herrera surpasses the records of the Heidelberg native, with 103 goals scored in the first 32 matches of the 1958-59 season<\/strong>. In that season, the Catalans secured the LaLiga title.<\/p>

The best record, however, still belongs to Joan Josep Nogu\u00e9s’ Bar\u00e7a, which in the 1942-43 season managed to score 106 goals in 32 matches<\/strong>. However, that league was Nogu\u00e9s’ second in the azulgrana bench and the title went to Athletic Club, while the azulgrana team finished third, behind Sevilla. The Catalans had to wait until the 1944-45 season, with Josep Samitier on the bench, to break a 29-year drought without winning the Spanish First Division.<\/p>

Bar\u00e7a surpasses 100 goals in 32 matches for the first time since 2011-12<\/h3>

For Barcelona, the records of the 2024-25 season are very close to those achieved by Pep Guardiola’s team in the 2011-12 season. In the first 32 matches of that season, the team scored 102 goals<\/strong>. In LaLiga, the balance was very similar, with 63 goals scored after 21 matchdays, 4 more than the Catalans have this season. The effectiveness, however, was higher, with 48 points (6 more) from 14 wins, 6 draws, and only 1 loss.<\/p>

Interestingly, Real Madrid was also leading at that time, with 7 points more than the Catalans<\/strong>. That season, Bar\u00e7a finished second in LaLiga with 91 points, 9 behind the ‘merengues’ (100). In the Champions League, the team reached the semifinals, falling to the champion Chelsea, while in the Copa del Rey, the title remained in the azulgrana trophy cabinet after a 3-0 win over Athletic in the final.<\/p>
