FC Barcelona<\/strong> breathes a sigh of relief with the return of Robert Lewandowski<\/strong> and Ferran Torres<\/strong> to Catalonia, injury-free and with their ‘powder’ dry, after the international break. Both managed to celebrate goals with Poland and Spain<\/strong>, respectively, in a double round of World Cup qualifiers with good results for both countries.<\/p>

La Roja put on a show by earning 6 out of 6 points in their visits to Bulgaria (0-3)<\/a> and Turkey (0-6)<\/a>, while the Poles did their homework by rescuing a draw in Rotterdam against the Netherlands (1-1)<\/strong> and securing a home victory against Finland (3-1)<\/strong>.<\/p>

Lewandowski had a scoring return as captain of Poland<\/h2>

Bar\u00e7a’s ‘9’ returned to his national team after his controversial resignation last June and did so as captain and goalscorer. In the draw against Holland, ‘Lewy’ played 64 minutes and Jan Urban’s men finally salvaged a draw with a goal from Matty Cash in the 80th minute.<\/p>

In that match, Frenkie de Jong came off in the 79′ with a gluteal strain<\/a> that has, finally, sent him to the cul\u00e9 infirmary, although for now it is only a minor injury.<\/p>

On Sunday, Lewandowski once again celebrated a goal with his national team in the match against Finland. The 37-year-old striker scored the provisional 2-0 in the 45+2 minute<\/strong>, practically sealing the match for the Poles before halftime.<\/p>

Robert came off in the 67th minute and showed that he had completely overcome the discomfort in his left thigh<\/a> that prevented him from playing in the Joan Gamper Trophy and LaLiga matchday 1 against Mallorca (0-3). Against Levante (2-3) and Rayo (1-1) he only played 14 and 12 minutes, respectively, so the Warsaw native hopes to return to the starting lineup next Sunday against Valencia.<\/p>

Ferran Torres also remains on fire with Spain<\/h2>

However, the decision to reinstate the ‘9’ in the lineup will not be easy, as Ferran Torres is also ‘on fire’. The ‘Shark’ was a substitute in both of Spain’s matches, but managed to score the fourth of six goals in the historic thrashing of Turkey in Konya<\/strong>.<\/p>

Ferran came on for the injured Nico Williams in the 44th minute and also participated in Mikel Merino’s second goal (La Roja’s third) just before halftime. In fact, although the midfielder’s shot was on target, the goal should officially be credited to Bar\u00e7a’s ‘7’ for minimally deflecting the ball<\/strong>.<\/p>

Against Bulgaria, Torres had remained on the bench. Even so, the ‘Shark’ is enjoying his best start to the season, with 3 goals in 4 games. The native of Foios started the 25\/26 season ‘sweetly’ with goals against Mallorca<\/a> and Levante<\/a>, although he could not extend his streak in the visit to Rayo.<\/p>

In that sense, Flick will have a lot to think about between now and Sunday to decide whether the ‘7’ manages to stay in the XI against Valencia or, failing that, Lewandowski reclaims the position. The Pole remains the team’s ‘9’ after scoring 42 goals last season.<\/p>
