‘France Football’ recently announced the date on which the 2025 Ballon d’Or gala will be held. Rodrigo Hern\u00e1ndez (Manchester City) and Aitana Bonmat\u00ed (FC Barcelona)<\/a> were the top winners of the last edition of the award, which now has UEFA as an associate.<\/p>

The nominations for the 13 categories of the award will be announced on August 13, while the official ceremony will take place on Monday, September 22 at the Th\u00e9atre du Chatelet in Paris<\/strong>. Bar\u00e7a, once again, hopes to have a massive representation in the women’s branch and, for the first time in several years, in the men’s branch thanks to the season of the team led by Hansi Flick.<\/p>

Who are the favorites to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or?<\/h2>

The coach will certainly be one of the nominees for coach of the year, while other first-team figures aspire to win the award for the best footballer on the planet. In the 2024 edition, Lamine Yamal received the Kopa Trophy for the best young player<\/a>.<\/p>

The 19-year-old winger, in fact, is one of the favorites for the Ballon d’Or this year, along with Raphinha. In addition, Ousmane Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 (PSG) and Lautaro Mart\u00ednez (Inter Milan)<\/strong> may gain ground after the Champions League final between the French and Italians.<\/p>

Other names that may gain strength after the next Club World Cup are Mohamed Salah<\/strong> and Kylian Mbapp\u00e9<\/strong>, as long as Liverpool or Real Madrid win the tournament to be held in June in the United States.<\/p>

Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are going for the first Blaugrana Ballon d’Or since 2019<\/h2>

For the 2025 edition, Bar\u00e7a has several potential candidates for the award. In addition to Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, Pedri Gonz\u00e1lez and Robert Lewandowski<\/strong> also have options to be nominated among the finalists, with the player from Matar\u00f3 and the Brazilian being the main favorites.<\/p>

Rafa has 34 goals and 23 assists this season, being the player in the five major European leagues with the most direct involvements in goals (57) in 24\/25<\/strong>, surpassing Mohamed Salah (33G\/23A).<\/p>

Lamine, meanwhile, has 18 goals and 23 assists<\/strong>. Both have three titles (League, Cup and Spanish Super Cup) in their palmares, an aspect not minor in their aspirations to win the award that, in the men’s branch, has not been in the Cules showcases since 2019.<\/p>

For Bar\u00e7a, their last Ballon d’Or was Leo Messi<\/strong>, winner of the award six times with the Blaugrana shirt (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2019). The Spaniard Luis Su\u00e1rez<\/strong> (1960) was the first to achieve it, followed by Johan Cruyff<\/strong> (1973 and 1974) and the Brazilians Rivaldo<\/strong> and Ronaldinho<\/strong>, best players in the world in 1999 and 2005, respectively.<\/p>
