For the fourth consecutive Champions League tie, Paris Saint-Germain took the lead in the first leg, this time against Arsenal in the semi-finals. Luis Enrique’s side struck in London thanks to a goal from Ousmane Demb\u00e9l\u00e9<\/strong> in the 4th minute of a match where they were superior.<\/p>

In the first clear chance of the match, the former FC Barcelona forward<\/a> combined with Kvaratskhelia to blast a crossed shot past David Raya<\/strong>, after an assist from the Georgian. The goal was the eighth for the Vernon native in the tournament and the 33rd of the season in 45 matches in all competitions.<\/p>

Luis Enrique’s side dominated the first half hour of the match and had at least two clear chances to extend the lead. The best was for Dou\u00e9 in the 31st minute<\/strong>, with a shot cleared with difficulty by Raya. The rebound fell to Fabi\u00e1n Ruiz, but the Spanish midfielder sent his shot straight to the base of the post.<\/p>

Arsenal took too long to get into the game, but in the 38th minute they warned with a good arrival from Mikel Merino who was very close to causing a penalty from Joao Neves. Gabriel Martinelli would have two unbeatable opportunities before the break<\/strong>, but in one he shot wide and, in the other, he was met by a save from Donnarumma.<\/p>

Saka also demanded Donnarumma with a good whiplash to the near post in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper again pulled reflexes with a saving slap. In the final minutes, Gon\u00e7alo Ramos, who had entered for Dou\u00e9 in the second half<\/strong>, wasted two unbeatable opportunities to liquidate the tie, with a shot deflected wide and another to the crossbar.<\/p>

In the end, PSG took a golden victory from London, but the tie is still totally open for the return leg at the Parc des Princes<\/strong>. Both teams are looking for their first Champions League and their second final, after falling against Bayern (1-0 in 2020) and Bar\u00e7a (2-1 in 2006), respectively.<\/p>

We will have to see if Demb\u00e9l\u00e9’s issue remains a scare or if, finally, he suffers an injury that prevents him from playing next Wednesday, May 7<\/strong>. Arsenal is obliged to come back against a rival they had defeated in the league phase as locals (2-0).<\/p>
