The Blaugrana club will receive around 1.3 million euros this summer, after Villarreal decided to sell left-footed centre-back Jorge Cuenca<\/strong>. The 24-year-old is the new Fulham player, a team that would have paid around 6.7 million euros plus 1.5 million in variables for his services.<\/p>

The Barcelona board secured 20% of a future transfer by selling him to the Valencian team in 2020 for 2.5 million euros<\/strong>, which could increase to 6.5 depending on certain variables. Cuenca had a contract until 2025 and was an important player for Marcelino Garc\u00eda Toral last season, but for the benefit of the cul\u00e9 club, they have opted to transfer him this summer and get some money instead of letting him go for free next season.<\/p>

The Madrid centre-back arrived at Bar\u00e7a in July 2017 at 17 years old<\/strong>. He arrived from Alcorc\u00f3n for 400,000 euros and joined Bar\u00e7a Atl\u00e8tic, where he made his debut in Ernesto Valverde’s first team in a Copa del Rey match against Cultural Leonesa. In September 2020 he was transferred to Villarreal, where he established himself as a promising player after two loans to Almer\u00eda and Getafe.<\/p>

Beyond the sales that the Blaugrana team plans to make, the board is still attentive to other income from players who belonged to their ranks in the past.
