Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a nice mid-range shot. Sancet equalized with a penalty in the first half, but Lewandowski appeared again in the 75th minute to catch a loose ball inside the area and leave the 3 points at home.

FC Barcelona, 2: Ter Stegen; Koundé, Cubarsí, Iñigo, Balde (Gerard Martín, min 91); Bernal (Eric García, min 82), Pedri, Raphinha; Ferran (Fermín, min 63), Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal (Pau Víctor, min 91).

Athletic, 1: Padilla, Gorosabel, Yeray, Vivian, Yuri; Meadows (Ander Herrera, min 78), Vesga (Jauregizar, min 63), Sancet (Unai López, min 63); Nico Williams, Iñaki Williams (Guruzeta, min 78) and Berenguer (Adu Ares, min 72).

Goals of the party: 1-0, Lamine (min. 24); 2-1, Lewandowski (min. 75).

Ray Vallecano 1-2 FC Barcelona (LaLiga, day 3)

Barça has suffered in its last visits to Vallecas and this season was no exception (1-2). Unai López put the hosts ahead at the start of the match, but Barça recovered from a weak first half after Dani Olmo came on at halftime. The man from Terrassa had a dream debut, scoring the winning goal in the 82nd minute with a remarkable finish. Valladolid was no match for a devastating team (7-0). Raphinha, with a hat trick, led a historic beating by the culés on an afternoon of celebration in which Lewandowski, Jules Koundé, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres also scored. The culés avenged the two painful defeats of last season against Girona with a comfortable victory (1-4) that Lamine led with a double in the first half. After the break, Dani Olmo, who had been ‘wetting’ for three consecutive days, and Pedri, closed the score against a Catalan team that was barely able to score with a goal from Stuani ten minutes from the end.

Girona, 1: Gazzaniga; French (Martínez, min 69), David López, Blind, Miguel; Solís, Iván Martín, Abel (Stuani, min 69); Tsygankov (Go of Beek, min 69), Bryan Gil (Asprilla, min 54), Danjuma (Portu, min 55)

FC Barcelona, 4: Ter Stegen; Koundé, Cubarsí (Héctor Fort, min 61), Iñigo, Balde; Casadó, Pedri (Pau Víctor, min. 69), Dani Olmo (Eric García, min. 61); Raphinha, Lewandowski (Ferran Torres, min. 69), Lamine Yamal (Martín, min. 93).

Goals of the Barça: 0-1, Lamine Yamal (min. 30); 0-2, Lamine Yamal (min. 37); 0-3, Dani Olmo (min. 47); 0-4, Pedri (min. 64).

AS Monaco 2-1 FC Barcelona (Champions League, day 1)

Barça suffered its first defeat of the season in a rough debut in the Champions League against Monaco (2-1). The early expulsion of Eric García conditioned a Barça team that, although they managed to tie in the 24th minute with a great goal from Lamine, ended up falling as a result of wear and tear due to a goal from George Ilenikhena in the 71st minute.

Monaco, 2: Köhn; Vanderson, Kehrer, Salisu, Singo; Camara (Golovin, min. 46), Zakaria; Ben Seghir (Balogun, min. 70), Minamino (Henrique, min. 70), Akliouche and Embolo (Ilenikhena, min. 59).

FC Barcelona, 1: Ter Stegen; Koundé, Cubarsí (Ferran Torres, min. 79), Iñigo, Balde (Fati, min. 88); Eric García, Casadó, Pedri (Pablo Torre, min. 83); Raphinha, Lewandowski (Domínguez, min. 80), Lamine Yamal (Martín, min. 80).

Goals of the Barça: 1-1, Lamine Yamal (min. 28).

Villarreal 1-5 FC Barcelona (LaLiga, day 6)

Barça recovered from the tough setback in the Principality with another incontestable win at Villarreal (1-5). A new double from Lewandowski in the first half allowed the Catalans to take advantage at half-time, despite Ayoze’s goal in the 38th minute. In the second half, Barça took advantage of the spaces in the ‘Yellow Submarine’ defense and finished the game with goals from Pablo Torre and Raphinha (double), the last of them after a wonderful assist from Lamine in a lethal counterattack by the culé.

Villarreal, 1: Conde; Femenía, Bailly, Logan Coast, Cardona; Comesaña (Terrats, min. 78), Parejo (Gueye, min. 70), Baena (Akhomach, min. 78), Pino (Barry, min. 63); Pépé (Suárez, min. 78) and Ayoze.

FC Barcelona, 5: Ter Stegen (Iñaki Peña, min. 48); Koundé, S. Pau Víctor scored his first goal in LaLiga to bring Barça closer, but a penalty from Budimir and another good goal from Bretones sealed the culé defeat.
