In fact, Postecoglou’s side had some counter-attacks to extend the lead, but in the final 20 minutes the siege of the ‘red devils’ was total. The clearest chances came in the 68th and 72nd minutes, with two headers from Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes<\/strong> that were miraculously not goals.<\/p>

The first was cleared by Van de Ven on the goal line, while the second went wide despite the fact that the Portuguese was unmarked and with the entire goal at his disposal to finish. Towards the end, Vicario cleared another good header from Shaw to keep the clean sheet<\/strong> and give Tottenham their fourth European title.<\/p>

Third Europa League for a Tottenham side that will make history in the Champions League<\/h2>

The ‘Spurs’ won the Europa League in 1972 and 1984<\/strong>, in addition to the extinct UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1963. The last time the club lifted an official trophy was in 2007\/08, in the final of the English League Cup against Chelsea (2-1).<\/p>
