In this regard, Marco Verratti has revealed in an interview with ‘La Gazzetta Dello Sport’ the details of a dinner prior to the Argentine’s arrival in France.<\/p>

Thus, the meeting took place in Ibiza, where Verratti shared a table with his teammates Neymar, \u00c1ngel Di Mar\u00eda, Leandro Paredes, and the star of the ‘albiceleste’, who at that time still defended the jersey of the ‘azulgrana’ team.<\/p>

Although it all started as an informal dinner among friends, the relaxed atmosphere and shared conversations sowed what, as the hours passed, would consolidate as the beginning of Messi’s bond with PSG.<\/p>

“I remember a great night that became almost magical. We are in Ibiza, Neymar comes to me and tells me that tonight we are also going to have dinner with Leo Messi,” begins the current Al-Duhail midfielder.<\/p> <\/blockquote>

He also added that “Leo, Paredes, Ney, Di Mar\u00eda and I ended up at the table. We talked and we were fine. And we give him, so to speak, a push so that he can come to Paris. Late at night we say goodbye and the next day we read that there are problems between him and Barcelona.”<\/p>

In this argumentative order, after the intimate meeting between friends, at dawn football received an unexpected plot twist: the ‘azulgrana’ club officially announced that it could not renew Leo Messi’s contract<\/strong>, due to the delicate financial situation it was going through. Turning what seemed impossible into reality in a few hours.<\/p>

In this way, amidst the confusion, Neymar was in charge of telling Verratti the turn that was about to materialize. With a brief phrase, the Brazilian revealed the news that would change everything: “Marco, Leo is coming with us.”<\/strong><\/p>

Messi’s time at PSG, marked by boos and not winning the Champions League<\/h2>

When Messi arrived at PSG in August 2021, it was expected that, after forming what was probably the best offensive trident in Europe, alongside Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbapp\u00e9, setting as the main objective the obtaining of the UEFA Champions League, which they finally could not achieve.<\/p>
