FC Barcelona<\/strong> hosts Osasuna<\/strong> this Saturday, December 13 (6:30 PM CEST) for matchday 16 of LaLiga, with Adri\u00e1n Cordero Vega<\/strong> as the referee. The Cantabrian official was appointed by the Referees Technical Committee (CTA)<\/a> along with Carlos del Cerro Grande<\/strong> (VAR).<\/p>

This season, Cordero Vega has refereed 8 matches, two of them for the Navarrese team. The ‘rojillos’ lost to Real Madrid (1-0) on matchday 1 and, later, drew with Elche in Pamplona (1-1) on matchday 6, with the referee from Santander as the main official. In total, the referee officiated 15 Osasuna matches, with 6 wins, 6 draws, and 3 losses for the Navarrese team.<\/p>

In the 25\/26 season, the 41-year-old referee, with LaLiga experience since 18\/19<\/strong>, but with a brief stint in the Second Division between 2022 and 2024, will officiate his first Bar\u00e7a match this season. Cordero Vega refereed Barcelona’s two matches against Uni\u00f3n Deportiva Las Palmas<\/strong> last season. On matchday 15, the Blaugrana team lost to the Canaries at Montju\u00efc (1-2<\/a>) with goals from Sandro Ram\u00edrez and F\u00e1bio Silva. <\/p>

The Bar\u00e7a winger ended with his left foot bloodied, but fortunately, he did not suffer any injuries. His VAR assistant this Saturday, Del Cerro Grande, also has a worrying history of controversial decisions detrimental to the Catalans, such as the disallowed goal by Lewandowski against Real Sociedad last season.<\/p>

Furthermore, the Catalans can further extend their lead at the top, which is currently 4 points over Real Madrid.<\/p>

    Bar\u00e7a is coming off victories against Elche (3-1), Celta (2-4), Athletic (4-0), Alav\u00e9s (3-1), Atl\u00e9tico (3-1), and Betis (3-5), going from being 5 points behind Madrid in early November to enjoying a 4-point lead with two matchdays left before the Christmas and New Year break.<\/p>
