FC Barcelona<\/strong> added their fourth victory in LaLiga 2025\/26<\/strong>, for the second consecutive matchday thrashing at the Estadi Johan Cruyff<\/strong>. This time, the victim of the Azulgrana team was Jos\u00e9 Bordal\u00e1s’ Getafe (3-0)<\/strong>, a rival that arrived with 9 points out of a possible 12 on matchday 5.<\/p>

However, the ‘Azulones’ were clearly surpassed by a Bar\u00e7a that applied a real ‘wash’ to the Madrid team on a rainy night in St. Joan Desp\u00ed. Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo<\/strong> carried the weight of the Cul\u00e9 attack, with the ‘Shark’ being the great figure with a pair of goals before the break.<\/p>

With the thrashing, Bar\u00e7a remains just 2 points behind Real Madrid, who did their homework on Saturday against Espanyol (2-0)<\/a>. The Whites, for now, are the only team with a perfect score (15), while the Catalans are, by far, the top scorer in the tournament (16).<\/p>

Hansi Flick made four changes to his lineup<\/a> compared to the Champions League debut against Newcastle. Although massive rotations were expected due to only having 72 hours of rest between both matches, the German only changed his central defensive duo, in addition to tweaking his attack with a pair of variants.<\/p>

Eric Garc\u00eda<\/strong> and Andreas Christensen<\/strong> came in for Pau Cubars\u00ed<\/strong> and Ronald Araujo<\/strong>, while Dani Olmo<\/strong> and Ferran Torres<\/strong> did the same for Ferm\u00edn L\u00f3pez and Marcus Rashford<\/a>. The Englishman was a substitute for arriving late to the activation session prior to the match, just as happened to Raphinha<\/a> last week, against Valencia.<\/p>

The ‘Shark’ was the great beneficiary of this decision, occupying the left flank that, in theory, would correspond to ‘Rashy’. Rafa, on the other hand, remained on the right in place of the injured Lamine Yamal<\/a>. Despite Getafe’s numerous defensive retreats, Bar\u00e7a only took 15 minutes to break the deadlock.<\/p>

In the 15th minute, a ball into space from Raphinha allowed Dani Olmo to enter the area. The ’20’, with eyes in the back of his head, caught Ferran free entering through the middle<\/strong> and pulled off a backheel that the ‘7’ took advantage of to finish first-time past David Soria. A great goal that left the ‘Azul\u00f3n’ team very shaken.<\/p>

Jos\u00e9 Bordal\u00e1s’ team barely tried to get into the rival area, provoking some throw-ins or corners. In the 34th minute, the Cul\u00e9s caught their rivals off guard after a long clearance from Eric Garc\u00eda<\/strong>. The ball fell to Raphinha, who, starting from his own half, enabled the ‘Shark’ with a cross pass. The player from Foios, again, finished with mastery<\/strong> in front of Soria’s advance.<\/p>

Before the break, Ferran Torres could even have extended his brace<\/a> with another very clear chance after a great pass from Pedri. The ‘8’ pinched the ball taking advantage of the ‘7’s diagonal run, but the Valencian, this time, shot with too much power and the ball hit the crossbar.<\/p>

After the break, Bordal\u00e1s wanted to reactivate his team with three changes: Djen\u00e9, Mart\u00edn and Mayoral for Davinchi, Mu\u00f1oz and Kamara<\/strong>, respectively. The first two were booked and Flick did the same, removing the only Azulgrana player at risk of suspension, Raphinha<\/strong>.<\/p>

The Brazilian left his place on the field to Marcus Rashford<\/strong>, the ‘punished’ one of the matchday. The match was very physical and Ricardo de Burgos was very willing with the cards, so the departure of the ’11’ was sensible.<\/p>

Getafe had a timid reaction in the first ten minutes of the second half, with a very dangerous shot from Javi Mu\u00f1oz and a yellow card provoked by Adri\u00e1n Liso after a grab by Andreas Christensen.<\/p>

Seeing that Bar\u00e7a was beginning to suffer from physical wear and tear, Flick sent Marc Casad\u00f3 and Ferm\u00edn L\u00f3pez onto the field for Frenkie de Jong and Ferran Torres<\/strong>.
