Barça has managed to clean up its squad by reducing the number of loans per summer. This year, Ansu Fati, Pau Víctor, Pablo Torre and Ter Stegen could leave via this route

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The FC Barcelona board has resolved in the first days of July the definitive departure of two of the three footballers loaned last season. With the transfer of Álex Valle to Como in Italy and the termination of Clément Lenglet’s contract, only the return of Oriol Romeu to Girona remains to be resolved.

The midfielder played on loan with Míchel’s team in 24/25 and Barça hopes to receive a smaller compensation for his definitive transfer to the ‘albirrojo’ team. Looking ahead to the next summer market, the azulgrana team’s plan regarding loan departures will be the same.

At the moment, four players from Hansi Flick’s squad have options to leave on loan between July and August: Ansu Fati, Pablo Torre, Pau Víctor and Marc-André ter Stegen.

Other players on the departure ramp are Iñaki Peña, Héctor Fort, Andreas Christensen and Gerard Martín, but the club prioritizes a transfer to resolve their departures.

With Ansu and Ter Stegen, the situation is more complicated. The winger is not in Flick’s plans for next season and his departure to Monaco is well underway. The French team will sign him on loan with a purchase option for 12 million euros in 2026. For the culés, the departure of the ’10’ is key to freeing up salary mass, as the player from Bisáu earns 12 ‘kilos’ net per year.

Regarding the German goalkeeper, although his emoluments are lower (7 M€ net per season), the signing of Joan García and the renewal of Wojciech Szczesny relegate him to a secondary role in the squad.

In that sense, Barça is considering three alternatives to finalize his departure: a transfer for an amount less than 10 million euros, a one-season loan with a purchase option or the termination of his contract, with prior compensation with the payment of one year of net salary.
