Lamine Yamal<\/strong> was very close to becoming a Bayern Munich<\/strong> player in mid-2022. The German newspaper ‘BILD’ recently revealed the Bavarian interest in the then promising youth player from La Masia<\/strong>, who at just 15 years old was already surprising with his enormous talent in the youth ranks of the ‘cul\u00e9s’.<\/p>

Bayern, alerted by their scouts about the projection of the player from Matar\u00f3, contacted the winger’s agent, Jorge Mendes, directly<\/strong> to try to close a transfer for around 5 million euros, a value significantly above the usual for a youth player of that age.<\/p>

Mendes, in fact, also signed with Lamine’s family to represent him that same year. However, Bayern had to wait, at least, until 2023 to negotiate directly with Bar\u00e7a<\/strong>, once the player turned 16 years old.<\/p>

Before that happened, Xavi Hern\u00e1ndez made him officially debut in LaLiga on April 29, 2023<\/a> against Betis, with 15 years, 9 months and 16 days<\/b>, being the youngest player to debut with the first team of Barcelona.<\/p>

Xavi’s confidence convinced Yamal to reject any offer to try his luck in another big club in Europe. In addition, the player from Rocafonda was always clear about his desire to make history in Barcelona<\/strong>, so Bayern, finally, was left wanting to sign him.<\/p>

Other clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain<\/a>, also tried to approach the ‘cul\u00e9’ youth player through Jorge Mendes. The agent, however, always respected the player’s and his family’s position, as he also maintains an excellent relationship with the club and its president, Joan Laporta.<\/p>

Lamine initially renewed in 2023 for three more years, until 2026, and this summer, he signed a new contract again, his first as a professional footballer, already with 18 years old and the number ’10’ on his back. Bar\u00e7a secured his future until 2031<\/a>, keeping his release clause at 1,000 million euros.<\/p>

Bayern also failed in their attempt to sign Gavi in 2022<\/h2>

In addition to Yamal, ‘BILD’ assures that Bayern also had the signing of Gavi<\/strong> on their agenda in 2022. The midfielder won the Golden Boy<\/a> that year, receiving the award from Pedri Gonz\u00e1lez (the Canary Islander won it in 2021<\/a>).<\/p>
