With this move, the Catalan team would achieve a double benefit, as they would receive a considerable sum for a player who arrived on a free transfer and would save the wages of a player who is currently the third highest earner (9 million euros net per season)<\/strong> in the Barcelona squad.<\/p>

A destination that wouldn’t be entirely indifferent for the midfielder, who doesn’t rule out joining the Turkish Super Lig in the future, although he has made it clear that it won’t be this summer.<\/p>

However, as the aforementioned source points out, ‘Galata’ would have a different stance regarding the German’s acquisition. Why? They could only go ahead with the operation if the player leaves the Cul\u00e9 club as a free agent<\/strong>, implying that his signing wouldn’t be possible until 2025, the year his contract with the Catalan side expires, although there’s an option to extend it for another season.<\/p>
