This is how the 4 pots are for the Champions League 2025/26 draw

The 36 teams qualified for the League Phase of the Champions League 2025/26 are divided into four pots with nine clubs each, defined according to the UEFA coefficient. From this draw, each club will face two rivals from each pot, playing one match at home and one away.

The entire pairing will be done through an automated program, which will decide both the opponents and the venue of each match. The draw will start with pot 1, assigning rivals to the teams consecutively.

Then, the rest of the pots will be processed in descending order, until all the teams have their eight opponents designated.

  1. POT 1: Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and FC Barcelona.

  2. POT 2: Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Atlético de Madrid, BSC Atalanta, Villarreal CF, Juventus, Eintracht Frankfurt, SL Benfica and Club Brugge.

  3. POT 3: Tottenham Hotspur, PSV Eindhoven, Ajax Amsterdam, Napoli, Sporting CP, Olympiacos, Slavia Prague, Olympique Marseille and Bodø/Glimt.

  4. POT 4: AS Monaco, Galatasaray, Union SG, Athletic Club, Newcastle, Kairat Almaty, Pafos FC, Qarabağ and Copenhagen.

The 36 qualified teams will play a total of eight matches —four at home and four away— with the main objective of finishing among the top eight, places that grant direct passage to the round of 16.

Otherwise, clubs that are between ninth and twenty-fourth place can access the round of 16 play-offs, with the option of reaching a quota among the 16 best in the tournament. Finally, from 25th to 36th, they will be automatically eliminated from this first phase.
