FC Barcelona already knows 28 of the 35 clubs that will accompany them in the next edition of the UEFA Champions League 2025/26. Again, the team led by Hansi Flick will be part of pot 1, waiting to know their eight rivals in the league phase.
Despite having reached the semifinals in 25/26, the blaugrana team is the team with the worst coefficient in pot 1 (103.250), behind Borussia Dortmund (106.750), Chelsea (107.000) and Inter Milan (112.750).
The first five classified are Paris Saint-Germain (113.000), Liverpool (115.500), Bayern Munich (135.250), Manchester City (137.750) and Real Madrid (143.500).
This has to do with the two consecutive seasons (21/22 and 22/23) that Barça was eliminated in the extinct group stage, in addition to the elimination in the round of 16 of 20/21. These three seasons continue to condition the culé coefficient in the Champions League.
Teams qualified for the Champions League 2025/26: Analysis of the pots
In pot 2, meanwhile, they have already secured their presence in the all-against-all league, ordered according to their UEFA coefficient, Arsenal (98.000), Bayer Leverkusen (95.250), Atlético de Madrid (93.500), Atalanta (82.000), Villarreal (82.000), Juventus (74.250) and Eintracht Frankfurt (74.000).
To these are added, in pot 3, Tottenham (70.250), PSV Eindhoven (69.250), Ajax (67.250), Naples (61.000), Sporting CP (59.000), Olympiacos (56.500), Slavia Prague (51.000) and Olympique de Marseille (48.000).
Finally, in pot 4, Monaco (41.000), Galatasaray (38.250), Union Saint-Gilloise (36.000), Athletic Club (26.750) and Newcastle (22.982) are already classified. The Premier League and LaLiga are the only tournaments with more than four places (6 and 5, respectively), thanks to their superior coefficient and, in the case of England, to Tottenham's coronation in the Europa League.
This is how the pots for the next Champions League are
At the moment, 29 teams have secured their ticket to the next league phase of the Champions League, 9 of them belonging to pot 1 and another 7 to pot 2. In pot 3 there are 8 qualified teams, while in the fourth and last pot there are 4 teams to be defined.
UEFA will soon draw the four previous rounds of the so-called 'League Champions Route', from which 5 qualified teams will emerge. The other two teams must define their classification in the 'Route of non-league champions', which includes teams such as Benfica, Feyenoord, Bruges, Fenerbahçe and Nice.
As of May 25, 2025, this is how the pots are for the next Champions League, to be played from September 16, 2025 (first day of the league phase) to May 30, 2026. It will be the 71st edition of the tournament, with the final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest. The first preliminary round starts on July 8 and the 'play-off' (fourth round) prior on August 19, ten days before the league phase is drawn.
