FC Barcelona is working against the clock to be able to play as a local at the Spotify Camp Nou the match against Valencia CF for matchday 4 of LaLiga between September 13 and 14. However, if this does not materialize, in principle, the team could play in up to three different scenarios during the 2025/26 season.

That is why the Blaugrana team faces a logistical dilemma ahead of their home debut. The Montjuïc Olympic Stadium, the team's usual temporary venue, will not be available due to a Post Malone concert scheduled for the 12th of the same month.

This makes it impossible for the venue to be in optimal condition to host the match. Likewise, the Johan Cruyff Stadium has been ruled out by LaLiga for not meeting the minimum capacity required, according to recent information.

The option of playing the match at the Camp Nou, still under renovation and with a reduced capacity of 27,000 spectators, is fading as the days go by.

But... Why could Barça play in three stadiums?

In this context, given this scenario for the commitment against the 'ché', the club is considering two alternatives: moving the match to the Municipal de Montilivi, provided that Girona agrees to give up its ground of 14,000 seats, or playing at the Camp Nou behind closed doors.

It is worth remembering that the Catalan team would have already secured the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium, so that, in case of not being able to play at the Spotify Camp Nou, they would have the possibility of facing their commitments as a local at the venue that is already well known by the culés.

In this way, the team, although for now everything is hypothetical, could play in three stadiums, because also, if they face a little more than the first part of the season in Montjuïc, until the end of February, they could return to the Camp Nou for the same or the following month, already with the possibility of hosting 60,000 spectators.

Of course, the option of playing at the Municipal de Montilivi would only be to face Valencia. From there, if it is not possible at the Nou Camp, then they would go to Montjuïc.

UEFA allows Barça to play the first matchday of the Champions League as a visitor

In this order of ideas, Barcelona, for the moment, got rid of a headache, since UEFA would have allowed them to play as a visitor until the second matchday of the Champions League 2025/26 league phase.

This request was made by the club to the highest body of European football in its intention to have the Camp Nou for the home debut in the Champions League, which could take place between September 30 and October 1.

In addition, the entity requires clubs to play the four matches as locals of the league phase in the same venue, so on August 28 the Blaugrana entity has to inform about the decision of the ground that will serve as home for the first team.
