Marc Casadó has made another key decision for his professional future. According to 'SPORT', the 21-year-old midfielder has decided to end his relationship with the agency Wasserman to become one of the players represented by the renowned Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes.

From now on, Casadó's sports rights will be under the guardianship of the Gestifute agency, awaiting the signing of the legal documentation that will formally unlink him from Wasserman. In that sense, the '17' will be the fifth player in the Barça squad represented by the Portuguese 'super-agent'.

Marc Casadó seeks to secure his future at FC Barcelona

Marc's decision to change agents after a very busy summer transfer window is by no means coincidental. Several clubs in England were interested in signing him, but the Sant Pere de Vilamajor native never seriously contemplated leaving Barça this year.

Firstly, because he has a contract until 2028 and his release clause, while not prohibitive (€100 million), is still high. Secondly, because the midfielder has Hansi Flick's confidence as an alternative in midfield, although he knows he is behind Frenkie de Jong in the race for a starting spot.

In the 25/26 season, Casadó will face more competition for a place with the return of Marc Bernal and a Gavi, theoretically, fully recovered from his right knee discomfort. However, the Spanish international is confident that he can earn his place, just as he did last season.

The '17' became a starter in the first half of the 24/25 season, after Bernal's serious injury and Frenkie's absence, also due to injury. In total, the youth player scored 1 goal and 6 assists in 36 matches (2,447 minutes), in addition to missing the last two months of the season after suffering a partial rupture of the external ligament in his right knee at the end of March.

In that sense, by signing with Gestifute, Marc seeks to cut off new market rumors about a possible January departure. His priority is clear: to help Barça try to win everything in 2026 and make history as a Culé. At the moment, he has accumulated 42 official appearances with the first team.

Jorge Mendes extends his 'control' over the Barça squad

At the same time, by being part of Jorge Mendes' agency, Casadó feels more at ease regarding his future in Barcelona. The Portuguese agent's relationship with the Blaugrana board is excellent, even more so when up to five Barça players are represented by Gestifute.

The most important, clearly, is Lamine Yamal, who a couple of months ago signed his renewal until 2031. The other three Barça players represented by Mendes are Ansu Fati, Alejandro Balde, and Guille Fernández. The Portuguese agent's participation was key to unblocking the departure of the Bissau-Guinean to Monaco, after a renewal until 2028 to readjust his salary.

Thus, for now, Marc Casadó's continuity in Barcelona is not at risk. As long as the player performs at his best and expresses his desire to stay, the club will rule out a possible transfer. On the contrary, if his development is positive, the logical thing would be to extend his contract for a couple more seasons to raise the price of his release clause.
