The search for economic solvency of FC Barcelona has no days of rest. In that sense, the azulgrana institution has reached an agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo to carry out a tourism promotion sponsorship of the country.
From the African nation, they assure that it is an agreement based on Barça carrying the slogan 'DRC, the heart of Africa' on the jersey for the next three seasons. Also, the pact would have been signed last Monday.
Similarly, the total operation would be around 10 million euros per course, allowing the blaugrana team an important economic boost.
Barça-DRC, an agreement with sports and social reach
According to information leaked by the African nation, Didier Budimbu, Minister of Sports and Tourism, traveled to Barcelona to seal the agreement. The Central African country, apparently, will also have a VIP room in the new Spotify Camp Nou to hold corporate meetings.
Thus, within the framework of the agreement sealed between Barcelona and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Barca Foundation will also have a crucial role in the development of the social component of the project, since, beyond the sports and institutional objectives, the agreement contemplates collaborative agreements with Congolese educational centers.
Also, Congo would also like to carry out in the coming months a friendly match of the blaugrana team in their country to complete the tourism promotion of the same.
It should be noted that the connection between RCD and the Catalan team began to be forged in 2023 when the Barça Legends played a match in the lands of the aforementioned nation against a combined of former culé players.
When will the sponsorship be released on the jersey and in what sense does it benefit Barça?
In principle, the sponsorship is expected to start appearing on the Barcelona jersey during the Joan Gamper Trophy that will be played on August 10 against Como of Serie A. In addition, they would already be working to have it stamped on all the team's kits, according to 'SPORT'.
In this argumentative order, it is also expected that this new agreement will be part of the budget of the 25/26 course, giving a boost to approach the 1/1 rule, which allows clubs to operate normally during the transfer markets.
This new financial injection is shaping up as key within the club's sustainability plan, as it generates a direct contribution to the accounts, in addition to the budgetary compliance marked by the entity.
