After more than two years of waiting, dust, cranes and football exile, FC Barcelona is officially back home. Next August 10, 2025, the Spotify Camp Nou will open its doors on the occasion of the Joan Gamper Trophy, marking a return full of emotion, memory and, of course, unfinished works.
The return of Barça to Spotify Camp Nou already has an official date
FC Barcelona has confirmed its return to Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday, August 10, 2025, coinciding with the celebration of the men's Joan Gamper Trophy, whose rival has not yet been announced, although everything points to Como 1907 as the favorite.
This return marks the end of a hiatus of more than two years, during which the team played at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys while the Spotify Camp Nou underwent a major transformation. Although the stadium will partially reopen —with a reduced capacity estimated at around 25,000 spectators—, the emotion will be the same as always. Or maybe more.
A return between cranes, emotion and collective vibration
Although the doors will open, the works will continue to be part of the landscape. The club has confirmed that the following remain pending:
-
The construction of the new third tier.
-
The assembly of the double VIP ring.
-
The complete roof, which will be installed from the summer of 2026.
-
The exterior urbanization and the final adaptation of interior spaces.
A peculiar mix: construction dust and the smell of freshly cut grass.
To smooth this transition, Barça is working to improve the experience of members and fans: it will facilitate access, optimize services and offer special activities to turn each visit into more than just a match.
A campaign to return... and vibrate
The announcement does not come alone. It is preceded by the campaign "We return home, we vibrate", an action that flooded Barcelona with emotion and decibels.
For one day, the streets were filled with stadium sounds thanks to itinerant speakers mounted on a blaugrana pickup. And as icing on the cake, iconic images of legends such as Messi, Cruyff, Ronaldinho, Stoichkov and Deco illuminated buildings in the city.
It's not just football. It is a neighborhood, city and identity project. Espai Barça wants to be more than just a stadium: it wants to be a living part of Les Corts, Barcelona and Catalonia.
The future starts at home
On August 10, 2025, when the ball rolls on the Spotify Camp Nou pitch, it will not only be the start of a season. A new chapter in the club's history begins.
Barça returns home. With some walls still to be painted, yes. But with the conviction that, when the ball rolls, everything else is secondary.
More details about the opponent, the program of activities and the sale of tickets for this historic return will be announced soon.
