In the last hours it transpired that FC Barcelona would have reached an agreement to play a friendly match in Libya. The match could be played specifically in Benghazi, the second most populated city in the African country, only behind Tripoli.

In this sense, the X FCB World account disclosed that the president of the Blaugrana entity, Joan Laporta, held a meeting with the Minister of Investments of the Libyan government, Ali Al-Saidi, and the member of the House of Representatives, Al-Salihin Abdul Nabi.

In this meeting, in addition to apparently agreeing on the match, there was also talk of establishing an academy in Libya and also bringing the Barca Experience project to the North African nation, according to FCB World.

Also, the date of the meeting is still unknown. Similarly, we have to wait for Barça to officially announce the match through its various dissemination channels.

Barça's preseason in Asia

The preseason for the 2025/26 season begins next Sunday, July 13. On this day, the players will undergo the usual medical tests after returning from their vacations.

For its part, on July 14, the first double training session will be held, where those led by Hansi Flick will begin to prepare to face the matches of the Asian tour.

In this way, a few days later, the Blaugrana team will travel to the Asian continent to face the preseason matches. In principle, the Culé team will face Vissel Kobe of Japan (July 27), FC Seoul of South Korea (July 31) and Daegu FC of South Korea (August 4). This will represent Barça's return to Asia for the first time since 2019.

The Asian tour will generate record income for Barcelona

It is estimated that the three commitments could generate a minimum income of 15 million euros for the club's coffers. However, this figure could increase substantially depending on a series of variables not yet detailed. If these conditions are met, the Blaugrana entity could pocket up to 25 million during its 2025 preseason tour.

So far, the record for income from a preparatory tour of the Blaugrana team is 12 million euros, a figure reached in 2017. However, current projections indicate that the club would far exceed that threshold during its summer schedule of commitments.

This preseason was played in the United States, where Barça played against Juventus of Turin, Manchester United and Real Madrid. It should be noted that in that summer, Neymar Jr. ended up leaving for Paris Saint Germain.
