The renowned player representative, Jorge Mendes, is already in Barcelona, where he is expected to hold a summit with the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta. The agent has a couple of open cases concerning two specific assets, but with totally different realities in the Catalan team: Lamine Yamal and Ansu Fati. One to seal his necessary and expected contract extension, the other to definitively sentence his departure.

In the case of Lamine Yamal, his renewal seems to be more than on track. However, as recently commented in 'Mundo Deportivo', the culé club wants to definitively lay the foundations for the contract extension agreement of the talented Spanish-Moroccan right winger before he goes on vacation.

Lamine Yamal's renewal has few details to adjust

Mendes, already with Lamine Yamal's new instructions, is in Barcelona with the mission of transferring them to the institution for their subsequent approval, and to finish shaping the contract whose signature and officialization is expected to occur shortly after the striker turns 18, on July 13. It will be then when a five-year link can be formalized.

In turn, this new contract will come with a salary update according to his contribution to the team —which has been increasing— and other conditions in the sports aspect, to pamper one of the great talents of the house, who can perfectly be the axis of the culé sports project, not only with a view to the present, but also with projection towards the future.

An agreement that should not take too long to come to fruition, given the willingness of all parties to make it possible. This has been expressed on more than one occasion by both Jorge Mendes and Lamine Yamal, and several representatives of the club at the sports management level, such as Joan Laporta and Deco.

Ansu Fati goes to Monaco... Or Chelsea?

On the other hand, there is the case of Ansu Fati, who already gives the impression of having his hours counted as a player of FC Barcelona. A striker who barely counted for Hansi Flick in this 2024/25 season, adding 298 minutes of play in a total of 11 matches. Numbers that only highlight the need to change of scenery for the current '10' blaugrana, which also, at the salary level, represents a significant impact on the culé payroll, being one of the highest paid at present.

Regarding the player from Bisáu, the information suggests that the striker could have AS Monaco as his destination for the next season, on loan. Although in recent hours a report from 'COPE' has gained special strength, pointing to the option of Chelsea getting into the fight for the left winger. A transaction in which it is not ruled out to accept a transfer for a minimum amount, for a blaugrana club that, apparently, wants to get rid of the youth squad player definitively.

Will 'Dibu' Martínez sneak into the conversation between Mendes and Barça?

In turn, it could not be ruled out that in the conversation between Jorge Mendes and FC Barcelona the name of Emiliano 'Dibu' Martínez comes up, player who recently was known to have landed in Barcelona to vacation and that, as the journalist Carlos Monfort asserts in 'Jijantes', would be being advised by the Portuguese representative in the search for a new destination.

All this coincides with the fact that Barcelona is in the search for a goalkeeper to reinforce the team, given the possible departure of Iñaki Peña and the uncertainty about whether Szczęsny will renew or not with the club. Although it is said that there is already an agreement in principle with Joan García to become the next culé goalkeeper, while this agreement is not official, anything can happen.
