Good news for FC Barcelona. The blaugrana team has used its various communication channels to inform about the medical clearance of one of its key assets on the offensive front: Dani Olmo, who, as you may remember, had been on the injured list since January 19.

The player from Terrassa had been suffering from an overload in the soleus muscle of his right leg, diagnosed after the match against Getafe CF (1-1). It's worth noting that during that game, he didn't show signs of physical discomfort, as he entered at the 62nd minute for Gavi and completed the match normally.

At the time, the club did not reveal the estimated duration of his absence. Finally, this turned out to be almost three weeks (18 days), as he returned to training with the team on Tuesday, February 4 and, after participating in some sessions with his teammates, quickly received medical clearance.

As a result, Dani Olmo missed a total of four matches: the games against SL Benfica (4-5) and Atalanta (2-2) in the UEFA Champions League, and against Valencia CF (7-1) and Deportivo Alavés (1-0) in LaLiga EA Sports. He has now been called up for the match against Valencia CF in the Copa del Rey. However, it is still unknown whether Hansi Flick will give him minutes as a starter or as a substitute in that match.

Second injury Dani Olmo overcomes in this 2024-25 season

This is the second physical setback that Dani Olmo has overcome in the 2024-25 season. The first one was much longer, as on September 15, during the match in LaLiga EA Sports against Girona (1-4), he suffered an injury in the hamstrings of his right thigh, keeping him out of action for just over four weeks (32 days).
