A committee from LaLiga inspected the progress of the works at the Spotify Camp Nou this Monday, including the accesses and the VIP box area that compromises the club's return to the 1:1 rule. The visit of the association coincided with the beginning of the installation of the new turf of the Estadi, which will be the grass with which the Joan Gamper trophy will be played next August 10.

In a video shared by the 'X' account @Obras_Camp_nou, you can see machinery lifting the first layer of turf sown last April to give the new playing rectangle the ideal conditions to incorporate what will be the definitive turf for the start of 25/26.

In principle, Barça will debut in the League on Saturday 13 or Sunday 14 September against Valencia, waiting to confirm the dates and times of the fourth round. For now, the culés already know their schedule for the first three matches, in August.

Is everything ready at Camp Nou? LaLiga inspects the progress of the works

At the beginning of September there will be a FIFA date, so the competition will resume in the middle of the month. The following week could also see Hansi Flick's team debut at home in the Champions League, on Tuesday 16, Wednesday 17 or Thursday 18 September. Failing that, the European premiere at Les Corts would arrive on Tuesday 30 September or Wednesday 1 October, on matchday 2.

In that sense, to receive the necessary accreditation to play all its League and Champions League matches at home at Camp Nou, the club has already received inspections from both competitions at the Estadi. On Monday, a committee from the association toured the entire work, with special attention to the box area.

LaLiga is waiting for the documentation from the Barça auditor Crowe that endorses the 100 million euros that the investors Fortia Advisor Limited and New Era Visionary Group agreed to pay in exchange for the commercial exploitation rights of 475 seats in this exclusive area of the stadium, called 'VIP Players Zone'.

Barça has already received 58 'kilos' from the operation, but Crowe demanded that the club build and enable the area to include the income in the 24/25 balance sheet. This operation is key for the azulgrana team to return to the 1:1 rule, thus managing to reinvest in signings all the money it earns or frees up through its market operations.

The Joan Gamper Trophy, a pilot plan with the new Spotify Camp Nou

The seats have been installed and the box area was painted from this Monday. Before the Gamper, the board will carry out a match simulation on July 28 to test the stadium's operability in terms of the entry of fans, media and security personnel.

In principle, although the board's idea was to play the Gamper with the maximum capacity available (between 60 and 65,000 seats), finally the capacity will be 30,000 seats. Barcelona has not yet officially announced its rival, but it is known that the match will be played against Como from Italy, managed by Cesc Fàbregas.

The idea of playing the Gamper at Les Corts, in addition to presenting the 25/26 squad at home, allows for a pilot plan of what the logistics will be throughout the season at the Estadi. Camp Nou will continue under construction, but with a very reduced operating margin due to the playing of matches.

In total, the club can play up to 29 home matches including La Liga (19), Copa del Rey (2) and Champions League (8, if they play the 'play-off' and reach the 'semi-finals') between September 2025 and May 2026. At the end of the season, the lifting of the third tier and the upper ring will be completed to proceed with the installation of the roof.
