The FC Barcelona will be one of the big clubs of Europe represented in the General Assembly of the European Association of Clubs (ECA), that this Monday and Tuesday will turn into the epicentre of the European football in the Hotel Okura of Amsterdam. The president of the Barça, Josep Maria Bartomeu, leads a Barcelona expedition that explains also Óscar Grau (CEO of the Barça), Albert Soler (Director of Professional Sports and of Institutional Relations) and Wouter Lambrecht (lawyer of the club).
During the meetings of this week will speak , between other questions, of the future of competitions like the World-wide of Clubs and the UEFA Champions League. The new 'Mundialito' will go in in force in 2021 with the presence of eight European clubs, and the Barcelona would want to finish to clear in which dates will carry out the dispute of the tournament, as well as of the organisation in the distribution of income between the clubs participants.
On the other hand, it will treat also the possibility that the Champions League can contest from 2024 in weekends, something in what the FC Barcelona would not agree and that would have been proposed by the current president of the ECA and of the Juventus, Andrea Agnelli.
It will speak in depth on the future of the European tournaments, with the base of the new Memorandum of Understanding between UEFA and ECA, signed during the past month of February and that it will be valid until 2024. The aim of UEFA and ECA is "to follow working together with the mutual confidence and the aim to ensure the welfare and the stability of the European football".
This Tuesday, Andrea Agnelli will concede to the 13.30 hours (Spanish hour) a press conference in which it will reveal the possible agreements that will have gestado during these two last days of meetings. The FC Barcelona, besides, could take advantage of his presence in Amsterdam to treat with the leaders of the Ajax the future signing of Matthijs of Ligt.

The central youngster Dutch is very codiciado by the big clubs of face to the next summer, but the Barça plays with the advantage of the good relations that is supported by the Ajax. Besides, the signing of Frenkie of Jong by the Barcelona could condition also the decision of Of Ligt, and the Barça would wish to have more details on the possibility to do with the arrival of the central.
