The Centre of Investigation, History and Statistics of the Spanish Football (CIHEFE) has published a study that situates to the FC Barcelona like the best team of the Spanish football of the 21st century, taking in account the results and titles of the picture blaugrana in all the competitions, although the Real Madrid has surpassed him in conquests in Europe.
The study, elaborated by the researcher of football José of the Elm, analyses the performance of the teams of Spain in the last 20 seasons, between the 2000/2001 and 2019/2020, establishing some norms that affect the results of the meetings and that situates to the Barcelona like the leader in his classification during the period studied. Of Elm shared the criteria of the International Federation of History and Statistics of the Football (IFFHS), responsible body to deliver annually the award of the best club of the world by natural year.
For the classification in the ranking, the researcher takes in account some variables. Between them, that in the Champions League, Supercopa of Europe and World-wide of Clubs, the teams can achieve until nine points by victory and three by tie, according to this scale. Besides, they consider the results reached in European competitions, League or Glass of Rey. To reach a good position, influye in elder measured the number of parties contested and victories, above the titles won.
In this sense, the study situates to the Barcelona in the 'top' of the classification, with 3.465 points. Very closely, it follows him the Real Madrid, with 3.347, and the Athletic of Madrid (2.149), that occupies the third square although it is third although they have played more than a campaign of this period in Second Division of Spain. The ranking continues with Valencia (2.139), Seville (1.992), Villarreal (1.648), Athletic Club (1.405), Sportive of The Coruña (1.395), Celtic of Vigo (1.164), Espanyol (1.144), Betis (1.137), Real Sociedad (1.108), Málaga (1.035), Getafe (1.028) and Mallorca (1.009).
The Barça surpasses to the Madrid
