What controversial statements have been made by the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Rafael Louzán, in a conversation with journalist Josep Pedrerol on his podcast 'El Cafelito'. Recently, an excerpt from this chat between the host of 'El Chiringuito de Jugones' and the highest representative of the governing body of Spanish football was shown, and among other things, a testimony given by the latter that involves the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, has surprised many.
In that context, Rafael Louzán, who claims to have known Florentino Pérez for some time (before taking on his role as president of the RFEF), has brought to light an important confession regarding the president of the white club, which is related to refereeing. "My relationship with Florentino Pérez, which was prior to this (to being president of the Federation), is good. The thing is, Florentino clearly states that he feels harmed in the refereeing aspect and so on... This is already common knowledge," he warned.
This argument, on the other hand, is notably surprising, as it is judged that the merengue team has been, perhaps, one of the teams that has been commented on more than once that it seems that the refereeing criteria does not show much rigidity when it comes to sanctions against them.
At the same time, it should not be overlooked that they have been the team to which the most penalties have been awarded in their favor this season in LaLiga EA Sports and the least against. A fact that at first glance may seem minor, but in relation to the topic does raise certain suspicions.
Louzán and Florentino Pérez's Constant Complaints About Refereeing
Furthermore, surprisingly, or perhaps not so much, in that brief excerpt, Louzán also mentioned that from time to time Florentino Pérez reminds him of the Negreira case: "I tell him that it is in the hands of justice. What am I going to resolve?". Even, the successor of Pedro Rocha in the RFEF also made another shocking revelation, as he commented that the president of the Chamartín team sent him a certain 'threat' of hiring English referees: "One day he told me he was going to bring in English referees to officiate".
Additionally, in this section of statements, Louzán did not hesitate to reveal the fact that the leader of the merengue team feels that refereeing has harmed his team on more than one occasion. "In Arabia, a year ago he had a private conversation with me and said: 'you have to resolve that issue with the referees that is harming us and we have lost many titles because of the referees'", he concluded.
The RFEF President Asks Florentino to "Reset the Counter to Zero"
However, Louzán, with a genuine mediating character, has expressed his desire to maintain a cordial relationship with Florentino Pérez, urging him to forget any past incidents he may have had with this organization and to start anew: "I tell him (to Florentino), let's see, I just arrived. We need to reset the counter to zero and we will try to get along in some way", he concluded.
