Kylian Mbappé has won the 2025 Golden Boot thanks to 7 penalties and a tailor-made sanction with Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid) has won the 2024-25 Golden Boot after surpassing Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting CP) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) with 31 goals in LaLiga and a total of 62 points.
The Real Madrid forward scored a double against Real Sociedad (2-0), enough to win the award thanks to 7 penalties and an adulterated sanction. Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski has run out of options after getting injured right at the end of LaLiga.
The Barça forward is currently fifth behind Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), waiting to see what happens in the last match of the season against Athletic Club.
🔹 Kylian Mbappé wins the Golden Boot with 31 goals
🔹 Viktor Gyökeres finishes second with 39 goals
🔹 Mohamed Salah finished third with 29 goals
Why Viktor Gyökeres Couldn't Win the 2025 Golden Boot?
Forward Viktor Gyökeres (26 years old) failed to win the 2024-25 Golden Boot despite closing a historic season in the Portuguese league. The Swede scored 39 goals, eight more than Kylian Mbappé, and unlike the Frenchman, he was able to celebrate the Primeira Liga title.
However, the hierarchy of the Portuguese league, which unlike the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, only awards 1.5 points for each goal, left the Sporting '9' without the precious award despite surpassing 'Kiki' and Salah in goal production.
The aids to Madrid gave Mbappé the 2024/25 Golden Boot

Mbappé, meanwhile, took advantage of the refereeing aids favorable to Real Madrid to, in the final stretch of the season, surpass Gyökeres and Salah, in addition to Lewandowski in the hand to hand for the Pichichi of LaLiga.
In total, the French international made 7 penalties, the last of them for a very dubious hand against Real Sociedad. In addition, Kylian escaped a sanction of at least four matches after a criminal tackle on Antonio Blanco in the match against Alavés.
The Competition Committee only gave the '9' one match of punishment, who took the opportunity to close the course with a streak of 8 goals in the last 5 days of LaLiga. Mohamed Salah was the only one who could reach him, but he barely scored a goal in Liverpool's draw against Crystal Palace (1-1), with which he closed the Premier League with 29 goals.
As things stand, the 24/25 Golden Boot classification is completed by Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) and Robert Lewandowski. The Englishman closed the Bundesliga with 26 goals, one less than the Pole has scored with Barça in LaLiga (27).
