LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 already has an official start date: know the key days

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially announced, through a statement, the start date of the 2025/26 season of LaLiga EA Sports. In turn, it revealed other key details related to the domestic tournament calendar.

According to the RFEF, the championship will begin on the weekend of August 17, 2025, kicking off an exciting journey of 38 matchdays that is scheduled to culminate on May 24, 2026.

Asymmetrical calendar: a model that remains for the new season

The Federation has also confirmed that the First Division calendar will once again be freely asymmetrical, a format that has been applied since the 2019/20 season. This means that there will not be two identical matchdays, as the system seeks to adapt to a wide variety of conditions:

1. Security
2. European competitions
3. Works
4. Festivities
5. Events
6. Audiovisual audiences

With this model, the aim is to maximize both attendance at stadiums and television audiences, adapting the development of the tournament to the needs of the country's sporting and social calendar.

Breaks for FIFA dates in LaLiga 2025/26: five international windows

Likewise, the five official dates for breaks for national teams have been announced, in which LaLiga will pause to make way for international commitments:

1. From Monday, September 1 to Tuesday, September 9, 2025
2. From Monday, October 6 to Tuesday, October 14, 2025
3. From Monday, November 10 to Tuesday, November 18, 2025
4. From Monday, March 23 to Tuesday, March 31, 2026
5. From Monday, June 1 to Tuesday, June 9, 2026

In addition to this, in this 2025/26 season of LaLiga EA Sports there will also be three midweek matchdays, although it has not yet been clarified which ones they will be. On the other hand, the Christmas break will begin after the matchday on Sunday, December 21, 2025, and the championship will resume on the weekend of January 4, 2026.

With the key dates already stipulated, the only thing left to know is the schedule of duels that the 20 participating teams will have in this new season of LaLiga EA Sports.
