Barcelona would pay €58M for Nico Williams, but it sounds like a bargain considering market prices. A 'Azulgrana' success?
Everything seems to indicate that Nico Williams will be a player for FC Barcelona starting in the summer market of 2025/26. A negotiation that would involve a significant outlay for the 'culés', understanding that the Catalan team would pay the €58M plus CPI corresponding to his release clause, given the apparent stance of Athletic Club not to lower a single euro to let their star go.
This, in principle, can translate into a significant investment for Barça, being a purchase that will immediately sneak into the 'top ten' of the most important outlays of the Catalan team in its history. However, considering how frenetic prices have become in the transfer markets in recent years, it suggests that Barcelona could be getting the player even at an optimal market price.

58 million euros: A reasonable investment for the Pamplona forward?
In this context, the investment for Nico Williams —in those €58M plus CPI— does not seem like such an outrageous amount, although it is still an operation that involves a significant amount of money. Especially if one takes into account the economic situation that Barcelona is going through and in which it has tried to make strategic investments, such as that of Joan García.
It will be in the long run, and depending on his performance on the field, when it will be determined whether the investment that the 'culé' team is expected to make for the '17' of 'La Roja' will become an unprofitable signing or if it ends up being a market 'bargain'. A possible addition that, given his projection and what he has been able to do at 22 years old, promises to be a great signing for the 'culés'.
