To the margin of what can occur finally with the project of a Superliga European, Aleksander Ceferin has smashed into the organism that governs the world-wide football, the FIFA, after this presented a new project for the World-wide of Clubs during the month of May.
The proposal of the president, Gianni Infantino, expands the participation to a total of 24 teams that would measure in an edition to celebrate each four years in replacement of the already extinct Glass Confederations. It estimates that the new tournament could generate an income of until 21 billion of euros.
Likewise, there would be a League of Nations that to his time will constitute another tournament in himself. Nevertheless, by pressures of the European Leagues, the announcement had to delay until the summer in course. It was then when the current president of the UEFA finished for pronouncing on the subject.
The answer of Ceferin
The president of the European body expressed his conclusive rejection to the projects that put the money above the football: "While it was president of the UEFA, there will be place to pursue selfish efforts or hide behind false pretences. The money does not command, and the sportive model European has to be respected".
Likewise, it sustained that the structures do not have to undermine in favour of greater monetary profits: "The football does not be up for sale. I will not leave that anybody sacrifice his structures in the altar of a mercantilismo very cynical and merciless. I can not accept that some people blinded by the research of gains are considering to sell the soul of the tournaments of football to nebulosos private bottoms".
