The preseason has ended and FC Barcelona is already focusing on its first LaLiga EA Sports 25/26 match when they visit Mallorca next Saturday, August 16. However, the club has not yet been able to register all of its players, as 7 first-team players still need to receive their respective federative licenses.
The most striking thing is that, on the official LaLiga website, Iñigo Martínez and Ansu Fati still appear as registered, even though both have already been officially announced as leaving the club.
The player from Bisáu left on loan to Monaco on July 1, while the Basque center-back completed his departure as a free agent to Saudi Al Nassr last Saturday, August 9. However, LaLiga has not yet processed their respective departures, as Barça has not yet regularized its financial situation.
Barça still needs to resolve the registration of 7 players in LaLiga
With both departures, Barça frees up a significant amount of salary margin: 16.4 million gross, at a rate of 8 'kilos' for the winger and 8.4 more for the defender. This is while Barça continues to operate without the 1:1 rule, as for now it can only take advantage of 60% of the salaries freed up and income obtained.
In that sense, Barça hopes to resolve this situation as soon as possible to register the following players with LaLiga:
- Joan García
- Marcus Rashford
- Roony Bardghji
- Wojciech Szczesny
- Gerard Martín
- Héctor Fort
- Marc Bernal
With the aim of having everyone available for the match to be played at the Son Moix Stadium next weekend.
Martín, Fort, and Bernal are not registered because their registrations belong to the youth team. In Gerard's case, due to his age (23), he must officially become a permanent part of the first team. Héctor is expected to leave in the final stretch of the summer market, as he only played 47 minutes spread over two matches of the Asian tour.
Szczesny, on the other hand, is not yet registered because he renewed his contract in July. His previous registration expired on June 30, so his contract needs to be updated. The same is true for the three reinforcements signed this summer: García, Bardghji, and Rashford. The Swede, thanks to his age (19), can be part of the Barça Atlètic squad.
Iñigo Martínez already made his debut with Al-Nassr in a friendly against Almería
On Saturday, Barça made official the departure of Iñigo Martínez, who joined Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and company, due to a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave for 'free' if he received an offer from Saudi Arabia.
Martínez played 71 matches and scored 3 goals in his two seasons as a culé player, being an undisputed starter for Hansi Flick in the 24/25 season. Once presented at his new team, coach Jorge Jesús did not hesitate to put him as a starter in the friendly match against Almería (3-2) played this Sunday on Spanish soil. The Basque played 73 minutes, being replaced by Aman awad.
Ansu Fati hopes to return to his level at AS Monaco
In the case of Ansu Fati, the 22-year-old striker hopes, after his move to France, to leave behind his unfortunate history of injuries. He is a player who started with great potential, but unfortunately has not been able to have regularity in his last seasons.
Barça loaned the Guinea-Bissau native to Brighton for the 23/24 season, where he played 27 matches and scored 4 goals. When he had the opportunity to return to the blaugrana club for the last season, under Hansi Flick, he only played 11 matches (298 minutes), being a fixed discard for the German coach.
FC Barcelona hopes that at AS Monaco he will have the expected continuity and can close a definitive transfer in the summer of 2026. It should be remembered that, at the time of loaning him, the azulgrana club extended Ansu's contract until June 2028.
However, the player from Bisáu has not yet seen minutes in the preseason with Adi Hütler's team, although the team has played 8 friendlies this summer. The coaching staff has prepared a specific physical work plan for the winger, with the aim of avoiding new injuries.
