Hansi Flick's FC Barcelona has seen a drop in performance this season in LaLiga EA Sports. After 8 matchdays, the team has a couple of points less than the previous year, and also has three fewer goals in favor. In defense, the performance is similar with 9 goals conceded.
In the 24/25 season, Barça began with a full set of points in the first seven matchdays (21), until their defeat against Osasuna in matchday 8 (4-2). This season, the Blaugrana team once again lost their unbeaten record in the eighth match of the tournament, but the Culés had already dropped a couple of points along the way in matchday 3, against Rayo (1-1).
Barça Records Its Lowest Score in the First 8 Matchdays of LaLiga Since 2021
In the offensive section, Barça still boasts the best offense in LaLiga, with 22 goals scored. However, in the 24/25 season, the first eight matchdays allowed the team to score 25 of the 102 goals with which they finished the season.
| Team | Pts. | Dif. |
|---|---|---|
| R. Madrid | 21 | +10 |
| Barça | 19 | +13 |
| Villarreal | 16 | +6 |
Furthermore, the 19 points out of a possible 24 are the lowest amount for Barça at this stage of the tournament in the last four years. In 24/25, the Catalan team, despite the defeat in Pamplona, was the leader with 21 points, 4 ahead of Real Madrid (18).
| Team | Pts. | Dif. |
|---|---|---|
| Barça | 21 | +16 |
| R. Madrid | 18 | +11 |
| Villarreal | 17 | +2 |
In 23/24, still with Xavi Hernández on the bench, Barcelona added up 20 points in the first eight matchdays, one less than Real Madrid (21). That Barça team, at that point in the season, was the only undefeated team in the tournament.
A year earlier, in 22/23, Barça and Madrid were tied with 22 points on matchday 8, but the Azulgrana team was the leader due to a better goal difference. The most striking thing about that season was the defensive performance: only 1 goal conceded up to that point.
For its part, in 21/22, the Blaugrana completed a forgettable start to the season with Ronald Koeman on the bench. After matchday 8, Barça had only accumulated 13 points and occupied eighth place in the standings. Real Madrid was the leader with 17.
In that sense, Hansi Flick must adjust several pieces to once again have an infallible Barcelona in the League, just as he did in the second round of 24/25.
The Catalans managed to secure the title by winning 16 of 19 matches, with a couple of draws and a single defeat to overcome a 7-point disadvantage on matchday 20. In the first half of the season, Barça lost in 5 opportunities, in addition to adding 2 draws.
