Mateo Busquets Ferrer will be in charge of refereeing the Rayo Vallecano – FC Barcelona match on matchday three of LaLiga EA Sports 25/26, as reported by the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA).

The Balearic referee will be accompanied by Gonzalo García and Adrián Díaz, as assistants, and the fourth official will be Juan Antonio Manrique. While the VAR will have the presence of the Galician Javier Iglesias Villanueva and the assistant will be Juan Luis Pulido.

This will be Busquets Ferrer's second match as a referee this season, as he officiated the match on the first matchday between Espanyol and Atlético de Madrid, which ended in a victory for the 'pericos'.

Since his promotion to LaLiga EA Sports in 23/24, he has refereed 40 matches, showing 216 yellow cards, 12 red cards and has awarded 10 penalties. Before that, he spent a season in LaLiga Hypermotion.

How has Barça fared with Busquets Ferrer?

This will be the third season for the Balearic referee as a referee in LaLiga. He has officiated the 'Azulgrana' team on four occasions; all ended in victory for the 'culés'.

In the 23/24 season, the 'Blaugranas' defeated Deportivo Alavés (2-1) and UD Las Palmas (1-0), while in 24/25 they thrashed Villarreal (1-5) and Osasuna (3-0).

Hansi Flick's team wants to continue with the perfect streak with Busquets Ferrer as referee and also with the winning streak in LaLiga, as they won their first two matches against Mallorca (0-3) and Levante (2-3). Barça's next match will be this Sunday against Rayo Vallecano at the Estadio de Vallecas at 9:30 p.m.

Rayo Vallecano has not known victory with Busquets Ferrer

Unlike FC Barcelona, the numbers are not positive for Rayo Vallecano with Busquets Ferrer's refereeing. The 'franjirrojo' team has not known victory with the Mallorcan in two matches.

In the 23/24 season, the Madrid team drew with Real Sociedad (2-2), while in the last season, they were defeated against Sevilla (1-0).
